Depends on how you do it....if you are careless, yes. I don't have any really noticeable swirls in my paint. Of course, the SCRATCH OUT also helps keep swirls at bay....I use it regularly instead of wax.
If you really looked at the paint under bright lights I guarantee there are swirls. Just rinsing the car off doesn’t remove the dirt and debris that is on the paint, and when you dry the paint with that dirt and debris on there, you’re going to have swirls. Especially with no protectant on the paint (Scratch Out is not a protectant)

I have to partially-disagree with that one. First, Scratch Out, though not a wax, is super-slick when it is buffed off, and makes the water bead up on the paint for months....that is one of the signs of a protectant. Second, clearcoat paints don't need conventional wax or protectants....the clearcoat itselfl protects the colored-laters underneath.
I agree with you, the touchless washes are harsh.....they are last resort type thing on winter for us when it's too cold/annoying to deploy the pressure washer at home.
I get the most basic wash where it’s one pass with soap then rinse.
I figure it the soft top is made for cold climates and snow and slush and grime to get on the top, it can handle a touchless once a month.
Agreed....and Scratch-Out, at least in my experience, provides a measure of that protection.
It doesn’t. It’s just a scratch remover. It does contain oily fillers to hide scratches and make people think it’s more effective than it is, but those fillers are gone on the first hot day or the first wash.

There are a lot of reasonably priced specialty products that would give much better results than Scratch Out for detailing, sealing, shine, slickness etc. A lot of them aren't expensive either.
I've been a pedestrian around a few Porsche Taycan's recently and I have to say I am becoming a fan of the fake exhaust sound they make as they accelerate at a low speed. No clue what it sounds like when going faster, no clue what it sounds like inside the car, but at lower speeds (ex: accelerating from a stop sign in residential area), I like it. I think it sounds good and I also think it's actually good for pedestrians - there are a lot of times in the Tesla when no one can hear me and they're walking in the middle of the parking lot unaware a car is behind them.
Maybe so, probably ok.
But, it's a weak spot on the car and does take a beating from weather, washing, climate, etc.
Kinda like blue jeans, can only wash and wear so many times before they fall apart. Lol
Especially jeans that are old. My concern is his top is also 20 years old.

Absolutely.

Not in my experience...it lasts for months.
While I respect your views, I know this product from many years of experience. I do not speak about it from ignorance.
