General Car Conversation
Got my car back. So half the cost of the dealer, got a nice loaner. it was done in 3 hours vs 2-3 days...I don't see myself ever going back to the dealer.
This Jetta had a regular key, yeah I could never go back to regular keys! Such a PITA.
I just did a walkthrough for a $2.3M house. Guess what was parked proudly in the driveway? A Telluride lol
I do! I just don't want to have to store it.
It is and it isn't. For one when you travel with 3 adults 2 kids and a dog, not a lot of room left for luggage. Second yes my wife dramatically overpacks.

^^ maybe you need one of those roof container thingies.

Flated Air-Carrier - The inflatable Rooftop cargo carrier. - GETFLATED
Playing a game of "can it be coded" right now with my locksmith, I think we are close to figuring out/bypassing the need to have the dealer code my Audis.
EDIT: we got it! Pulled the BCM keys and coded spare keys.
This kinda wraps back into what I was saying that if you know how/have tools fobs can be cloned even when you are supposed to need dealer only coding.
I called the Lexus dealer and asked, "what do I have to do if I lost all my keys and have no master."
Their reply, "it must be towed to the dealer, there is no other way".
So.... I did a thread on it and posted the workaround.
Yes, you will need to access to relocate the Immo box and need some soldering skills.
But, it can be done as I am witness. lol
I saw this on Sharktank. I actually like the idea of being able to deflate and store it vs. a hard cargo carrier. We use a rear cargo carrier that attaches to the hitch and it works well enough for us.

My Lexus dealer used to rent rooftop carriers, they would install them and remove them after the trip. They stopped doing it though.
Drove the LS460 for the first time in a while, wife wanted me to swap her out to the Jeep to pickup some free metal shelves for the shop and this has been the first time in like 2 months or so I've done more than move it around the driveway etc. I forgot how stupid smooth the LSs are, almost like everything is greased/moving though oil at all times lol! Inputs and body control are so much more lax/soft than what I have gotten used to as of late, its such a different experience and very relaxed in comparison to the A8s.
The only thing that really shocked me was how weak the engine feels now, I thought I was slipping gears once I got out of Delaware and onto 36/37 and I "hit it" lightly to 2700rpm and felt nothing.....I have gotten so used to high TQ instant engines that this feels dead now until 4k. Still drives great and is quiet etc but I was surprised how quickly I could settle into a new "normal" feeling and just how much faster I guess I drive my other cars? I think I may actually more seriously consider swapping out the 07 for a 13 AWD and putting a super on it so it feels "normal"

As well as them?
I am still just BLOWN AWAY by the new Yukon's interior, the buttons and pretty much everything else including switches which equal Lexus in terms of quality feel. (Window buttons, turn signal stalk, etc., sunroof controls, etc. etc.). The push button gear selector would absolutely pass muster in a high end Lexus, and I like how they put wood trim around it as it would be if it were a regular console shifter. I still don't care for the design but it is what it is, at least it is extremely high quality.
But the *****, volume and tuning for example, aren't buttery like Lexus ***** are. They're high quality enough, but not like Lexus.
