Hey, we all know the Caddy is not at the level of other high end cars.

But, but, but, it has cooooooolness in it's own right. 😎😎😎

And that point has no relevance, of course the buyers came from the same group, the vehicles were direct competitors.

After 1995, airbags were not an issue.....they were required in all new American-market vehicles.
Since we are talking about cars built before 1995, again that has no relevance.

Not everyone liked digital instruments.......even some TC buyers complained about them. Many of them had had analog gauges their whole lives, and had gotten used to them.
I doubt people actually preferred this 1960/70s era speedometer:

Bottom line is, Lincoln was making much more modern vehicles in 1990, and they were handily outselling Cadillac for that reason.

Yep, watched that!

Stopped by the Chrysler dealer to buy new wipers for the Pacifica, I though this was pretty crappy in the service/parts department and will certainly keep me from buying anything or servicing at this dealer again:

This was more encouraging:

WHATTTT???? Now I've seen it all. Dealers make most of their money through service as well all know. I'm sure that dealership is in the black just fine.

I'd sit there and make the check hard to read, are we back pre 1998? Before check-cards?

We pay NOTHING with checks except our landscapers.

That particular dealer is pretty terrible. I would never have my car serviced there and would only buy something there if they had some deal that I just couldn't get anywhere else. When you consider I paid them $111 for 3 wiper blades for a Chrysler, I would say they are making plenty.

Convenience fee? What are you paying a utility bill over the phone with a CC?

I wonder what they say, if anything at all, when people bytch, because you know they do.

Before I paid she put her hand on the sign and goes "DO YOU SEE THIS SIGN?" and I said "Yes I can read" and she said nothing lol

Its like, what do they want me to use to pay? Do they really want me to write a check for a big service bill and drive off with the car so it can bounce?

When you factor that 3 OEM wiper blades for a Chrysler are $110, the $180 for the 2 magic vision wipers for my S560 don't seem so bad do they?

Actually, I liked that design. You're a little early in the timing, though. It came out during the 55-MPH limit years of the 70s and 80s. Sure, it was all but useless for those who cruise at really high speeds, but I usually stay reasonably close to posted limits.

I also like how the digits are spaced in 10-mph increments instead of 20...makes it a lot easier to read at a glance....particularly in the center, between 20 and 70.

I remember you criticizing the recent 10Gen Lincoln Continental for being little more than a stretched FWD/AWD Taurus-platform. The 8Gen 1988-1994 Continental was essentially the same thing....a stretched front-driver. The Town Car was, of course, a RWD body-on frame design.....and, even then, the future of BOF sedans were starting to be on borrowed time...both for Cadillac and Lincoln.

Don't get me wrong. I thought (and still think) that it was silly of Ford to drop the big BOF sedan platform, especially considering how police departments, taxi drivers, and limo firms loved it. (I still hear from some police officers how the Crown Vics are missed). But I don't make those decisions.

Good idea. I change mine once a year or so...sometimes more often. The ozone in this area is bad and does a number on rubber blades.

Nope, ordinary Denso blades. Same exact blades Lexus uses actually.

So why not just buy the rubber insert?

That (probably) includes the metal wiper-arms as well. $37 apiece for just 3 wiper-inserts seems a little steep, particularly for a Chrysler product.

Chrysler doesn’t sell them. I could figure out what Lexus models have the same size wipers and buy inserts from Lexus that would work but it’s a PITA.

A number of automakers are like that. The bean-counters figured out that the parts-departments can make more money that way, by only selling the insert and arm together as one piece.

yeah. Could do that. Inserts are now expensive anyways. So what I saw was cheap metal blades with inserts. Instead of going Toyota I might just buy the replacement at Walmart and remove them and add them to my car.
