That continuous screen is really nice. Should have kept that design on the S instead of the big tablet they have now.

Oh basically inside is the same. Does the new one get extra hp like x5? Or just 48v on 350 is what’s new?

that one big piece looks nice until you get used to a tilted/curved screen. Then it feels very distant and off.

I love the one full screen on my S Class...I'm sure I would also like a curved screen. I do much prefer this layout to the new tablet layout in the W223 S Class.

There is no GLS 350 these days, but the GLS 450 goes from 362hp > 375hp and the GLS 580 goes from 483hp > 510hp.

I think you both are going to be amused by what's coming with the next-gen CLA that debuts next year. Wall to wall screens.

Yeah, at least this looks nice and integrated with the overall design.

One thing nice about the way GM is doing it now is that they (apparantly, from reviews) are using real safety-glass on the screen now instead of that former touch-plastic surface. That should make it MUCH easier to keep clean and wipe off fingerprints. I say apparantly, because I won't be sure until I see it and sample it myself. Local dealerships have some 2024 Chevy Trax and Buick Encore GX models with that new screen-dash in transit, but have not arrived yet.

That new design, unfortunately, does have a (partially)-tacked-on look, but it is not as cheap-looking as with many other automakers.

Tacked on screens have ruined the design of countless vehicles over the years. You folks tell me what looks nicer:

Fully enclosed, nice leather over the top, beautifully done.

Yes the tacked on screen is horrible. But it works better.

But why in the first place was it so bad? Why doesn't Lexus do their homework? We all know they used to, that's for sure.

No question it looked better in the top photo, with the leather-surround, but, from what I understand, the new design actually works better.

The original design looks better, but the refresh works better. The issue was Lexus’ poor interface controller.

24 gets a new front end, new taillights, some new wheels, new steering wheel, some trim updates inside and infotainment changes. Big thing for me is fullscreen CarPlay which the 23 doesn’t have…

Seriously that alone sells me a 24

I don't know anything about carplay and I don't care to learn, but why are manufacturers still not giving customers full screen? It's 2023 lol. I figured this would have been done 5 years ago.

They did, and then they stopped. Really weird. My Mercedes has fullscreen CarPlay. Then the new MBUX CarPlay only took up 2/3rds of the screen, now the refresh brings it (mostly) back.

This is what the CarPlay looks like on the 23 GLS:
