Chevy did it like crazy when they started having to pass side impact testing, they help keep the door aligned where it should be

Looks like all Subarus do this. Aside from the BRZ.

Dark Blue seems to have become your favorite automotive color lately.
And there's nothing wrong with that......there are some really nice shades of dark blue.
But just a pattern I noticed lately.

Yeah, I do have an RX. I thought I'd like SUV's lol, with more room for everyone but that's not really the case. The trunk always worked just fine for us. Besides, it's not real often when everyone's riding in the car with me. I might look into something else. It's pretty nice though, rides really smoothly.

Look at the numbers the RX sells in, though......even with that awful spindle grille. People love them.

And I bet 90% of them would be perfectly fine in a sedan as far as luggage and space go.
I guess it's all about being able to sit an extra 2 inches off the ground?

No, you cannot compare the trunk space of most of today's sedans with that of equivalent-size crossovers/SUVs. That is one reason (among several) why so many buyers have ditched sedans for crossovers. And that is at least (partly) because they have ruined the space-efficiency (and trunk-lid-size) of today's sedans by making the rooflines look like coupes, thereby making the trunk-lids very small.
Now, the big full-size sedans that I grew up with back in the 1960s and 70s....those were some
REAL trunks.

My perfect fleet woyld be a large BOF suv for traveling, only because wife packs so much crap plus a small dog cage.
Add a small car that's easy to park and drive in traffic to keep my stress level down.
Add a sports car and pickup truck just for fun.
My RX does none of them well of course.
It's a compromise in my case since it's our only car.
The extra 2" off the ground is nice for DIY repairs but I don't know how much longer I feel like doing that.
Might trade in for something newer or keep what I have, I don't know but it works for now I guess.
