I do see Taycans sometimes. But they're like $250k cars. I'm not saying I see NO evs. Just that, aside from Tesla, they ain't replacing ICEs anytime soon. Teslas are all over the place but other EVs are literally very scarce. So many Mercedes driving around, nice new ones...none are EVs..
Go to the crappy part of town and you'll see precisely ZERO evs.
I also saw someone charging their Tesla with just a regular outlet yesterday, I suppose that would work if you really just stayed close to home?

It may Beat the 0-60 mph times of the old Mustang GT's back in the day but in no way is the Mach-e a sporty looking car worthy of the Mustang name untill they make it look...... Wait for it...... SPORTY! Lol
When I say old Mustangs Im talking before the V8 engine is bored & stroked, roller rockers, racing cams, Holley Carb, and headers. I think that build may smoke the Mach-e but slightly not stock. Lol
My next door neighbor had an orange Mach-e GT as a loaner and it is quick to 70 but falls flat after that. Quick but not exactly fast.

Some. Most houses in certain areas have no garages so charging would be an issue with EVs. I have a friend who custom built a really nice house out there but she didn’t include a driveway, you just park out front. Dumb, I know.
The point is, people who live in the "crappy part of town" aren't spending money on expensive new EVs.

Well, one reason you see so few EVs in low-income areas is that many who live in those low-income apartments simply don't have garages or outdoor electric-outlets they can recharge their vehicles with. It is not so much a matter of income (not being able to afford an EV) as it is simply not being able to keep them charged.
Although I don't live in a low-income area, that is one reason why my local Chevy/Buick/GMC dealership is charging EVs for their customers, at the dealership, with 400-V super-chargers, free of charge (no pun intended). Electricity, of course, doesn't come free, but the dealership simply writes it off as a cost of doing their daily buisness. It also helps for PR and good customer-relations. Not only that, but they sell an excellent small inexpensive EV there at that dealership...the Bolt EUV.

One does not have to spend a ton of $$$$ on a new EV. GM solves that problem with the excellent 28-30K Bolt EUV. I just recently checked out an EV Ford Mach-E Mustang, and was very unimpressed with it......particularly in comparison to what the Bolt EUV gives you at roughly half the price.

The bolt is a very hideous looking car. I don't know who would want to be caught driving that thing.
Meanwhile, you can get a new Camry or Accord for the same price and not have to fool around the charging for an hour at a time and those are much nicer cars.

Well, styling is subjective, and you may (respectfully) think it ugly, but the Bolt EUV has a good reputation, it drives very well at least from my test-drive, and it appeals to a lot of folks who want or need a good relatively inexpensive entry-level EV.....something that not many manufacturers are yet doing.
Meanwhile, you can get a new Camry or Accord for the same price and not have to fool around the charging for an hour at a time and those are much nicer cars.
Well, in a few more years, you will be recharging new Camrys and Accords, too....on the same chargers that Bolts use.
It's 100% an income issue....I have enough customers from Hilltop and the east side to know that. They also have no interest owning a used EV since the battery pack is far too great of a risk in their eyes and the fact repairs require OE software interface also is a massive turn off for those in those areas. They really REALLY do not like owning cars that can't be worked on with an easy parts network.
Can’t catch a break with these accidents this and last year. Each time I was fully paying attention. It’s hard to explain but there was a pointless cement chunk (no light post or anything, just a pointless block of cement) right after turning right past very tall shrubs and I couldn’t see it.
My spouse was irritated until I said get into the driver seat and recreate the turn, couldn’t see it either.
Looks worse than it is. Rear door is fine. Just running board, new front door shell and some trim. But not what we had in mind for a nice Saturday cruise!

Yeah these are tanks, exactly one of the reasons I wanted it lol. Thank god I was in the truck because it would have totaled both of my cars which are both irreplaceable to me.
The rear door just needs trim, it's fine. Front door outer shell needs replacement and I need a running board and that's about it, this really isn't too bad honestly.
I'm guessing $7500ish.

Oh it'll be fine, I've already uploaded everything to my insurance via phone app. Score one for technology. Deductible is nothing, $500.
THIS TIME however, I'm not taking some Corolla as a loaner since I learned they don't care who gets what. I'm demanding (nicely) an Expedition, I'll use my surgeries as an excuse to need a big high up vehicle.
