I dumped the Pacifica... for another Pacifica...
So...there will be no compromise. The only vehicle she will accept is another Pacifica and she's fine to just keep this one. So, I'm washing my hands of it. She can service it and take care of it and handle all of that. I'll eventually replace the Lexus with something that we can travel with so I don't have to drive it.
Does that mean she definitely wants a new Pacifica, or she likes the current one so much that she simply wants you to buy it out on the lease-option, sign the title over to her in her own name, hand her the key/fob, and let her take over all the expenses (gas, service/repairs, registration, insurance, etc...) out of her own pocket? (and that, of course, assumes that you have separate bank-accounts, not a joint-one where anything she spends will technically be out of your pocket as well).Personally, although I can't read her mind, I'd be very surprised if she wanted to keep the present Pacifica more than get a new one. Today, it's not necessarily like the late/60s early 70s, where the build-quality of many new American cars suddenly took a nosedive, and, in some ways, you were better off keeping your old vehicles.
She doesn't care, new one or the old one. She doesn't have any income of her own, so whatever she does will be joint funds which is fine, I'm just not going to deal with it anymore. I'll drive it on trips when we can't take the Lexus until I replace that with something we can take anywhere. Lease is up in November so she's going to have to figure out what to do.
Money isn't the issue, its time. I just do not have time to be dealing with an unreliable car. At this point I would buy ANYTHING but a Pacifica, regardless of the cost.

You've mentioned a possible Land Rover product in the past, although you are probably correct to be concerned about reliability. Nevertheless, if you need the third row, to keep the two kids apart, the Discovery supposedly has the best configuration for it....more so than the Range Rovers.
In a pinch, you could also keep the two kids apart with just two rows....one kid rides up front, shotgun, with you, and the other in back with your wife. If your kids are of the age, though, where they tend to play with or fool around with anything in sight, it might be wise to keep them out of the front seat, where they can't mess with anything critical on the dash or console.

One of my agents had a Discovery briefly, I didn’t care for it. I don’t like how they look either. I can have 2 rows just fine, it’s if we take my mom with us somewhere is the issue for needing the third row.
I’ve driven the X7 6cyl and liked it, I’m going to drive a V8 one and see what I think of that.

I'll be the first one to say Congratulations.
May it certainly be more reliable than the last one was.
Until your recent posts describing your wife's firm opposition to anything but another Pacifica, I would have probably expected a new Odyssey....but I wasn't as totally convinced of it as you were that I was going to go home with a new Lacrosse LOL.
Can you let us in on color, trim-level, options, etc.....or wait for the SW special-news-brief on it?

For his wife?
Come on.....she probably wouldn't use one tenth of the Hellcat's available power. And, don't forget, Steve and I are both in the congested D.C. area, where speed limits even on Interstates are 55 MPH, and traffic conditions sometimes don't even allow that.

Enjoy that new Pacifica!
