I dumped the Pacifica... for another Pacifica...
Do you really want to settle for the Palisade based on availability? My hunch is the stock is better on the Palisade because it's exterior styling isn't as good as the Telluride's (unsure about the interior comparison, but I like the Telluride's interior). Since the Palisade vs Telluride debate is mostly aesthetics, go with your wife's preference, if any.
I like the Palisade moniker better, but, realize it's not all that consequential.

I don't see how the materials in the cabin are any different...that color scheme is different but the interior materials and seat quilting etc are all the same as the Limited. For $950 more though I'd go for that lol

That's completely wrong. There are more Palisades being sold because they're made in S. Korea which managed to avoid long-term COVID closures and has a higher production capacity due to being a larger facility. Telluride is made here in West Point and doesn't have those conveniences.
I really like that Palisade! I'd prefer what it has feature wise vs. Telluride...including where it is made. I like the styling better also. I wouldn't go with that light color interior with your kids though. Heck, my blue jeans would turn them blue in no time.
One subtle design cue I'm happy Hyundai is NOT doing on the Palisade is putting black plastic trim around the wheel wells. IMO, that downgrades the look of premium CUV's and SUV's. My mom bought a loaded 2020 Santa Fe in white and it has the black trim around the wheel wells - it's the only thing I don't really like about her car.

If you can't persuade on an SUV, is there any way to get a reasonable 2-year lease on one of these "less than ideal" minivans? So if you could suck up a current Sienna for only 2 years, by then the new models of the Sienna and Sedona would be out.

but won't come in time for steve.
