Have either of you saying “no changes to the interior” actually compared them before the negative posting, lol?
i saw the new one in the video briefly and the only difference i noticed was a wider screen but you're right, i didn't 'actually compare' them in detail.

This is progress!
thanks for posting.
the round air vents are an interesting change, but why?
more 'red' material i see (glovebox level and down now), center armrest, etc.
i didn't realize though that the 2020 IS was STILL using that fowl joystick abomination. from lexus.com for 2020:
hopefully the changes will move the needle some for the IS in the market.
actually i don't even know if the new screen is bigger, just more upright and closer, i presume they did the RX change with making it a touch screen now.
IMO, unless Lexus does some big ad campaign, sales will likely remain flat or decrease a little over time. Some nice changes, but not enough to make people excited to spend $$ on it.
IS sales will never increase over their all time best sales for this generation. Even BMW 3 series is down big time over their past generation launch in the first year. I think it is 2-1. What this refresh does for Toyota is to be even more profitable with sales....that is what they are after...not sales increases but even higher profit margins.
The last time a TMC product was this heavily refreshed was the Toyota Camry. Good stuff on the outside, clearly a difference between 2020 vs 2021. Inside I`m pleased with the carplay and android auto. Overall for those who are coming out of there leases or want something newer this will suffice.
post your source please where you saw the engine configurations? I haven’t seen them announced yet
fyi, on the last video i posted... not official lexus but in description it says:
2021 Lexus IS Spec Sheet: Some more sad news for now though. The 2021 Lexus IS will keep all of the current engines which include a 2.0L Turbo 4 making 241HP and 258 lb-ft of torque and two 3.5L V6 options ranging from 260HP and 236 lb-ft of torque and 311HP and 277 lb-ft of torque. As I exclusively reported last week, the IS 500 is possibly coming with the final application of the Lexus 5.0L n/a V8 making around 470HP. After this Lexus will transition to a new 4.0L TT V8 coming in the LQ-F, LC-F and possible LS-F.
Lots of nice subtle touches on the interior - especially the airbag cover and start/stop button. Curious how the touchpad will work. I was never a fan of it and generally preferred the joystick-style controller. Some proper cupholders though - finally!

Screen is nice, but also looks oddly large. Bleh.
I don't know where the phone plug is for Apple Carplay. Maybe its wireless Carplay...really no good place to put a phone in the IS.
Honestly, exterior is overall a win for me as well. The rear taillights do look a bit low as people have posted above, but I think it works from some angles pretty well. Side profile is great - definitely calls back to the LFA with the kick-up on/below the rear door. To top it off, I like what they did with the front. I kinda figured they would go with the UX style light housings - definitely one of the best headlight designs they've done lately. They look especially good with the triple-beam setup.
