2021 Lexus IS
I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that a CD provides truly lossless audio. Any audiophile will prefer CD's and lossless audio files over streaming...the sound is just so much better especially on a good sound system such as the ML.
Well I'm super disappointed. They stuck with the same old, tired 311hp V6. No power bump.
I think this officially makes Lexus the slowest sport sedan in the luxury market? BMW, Audi, Merc, Genesis, Acura, Infiniti, Tesla, and probably more I can't think all have more hp in a sport sedan.
Looks like I will be trying out another Acura or maybe a BMW for my next car.

You can also rip CDs to your iTunes/etc in lossless format and play them that way.
Don’t have to listen to CDs to get lossless quality.
Getting back to the IS, the FB event was bizarre.
I knew I heard that! Reconfigure the line up like mb and BMW by making the sports package exclusive to the larger engine ( c43 and m340i). Pretty lame considering the engine is sooo underpowered compared to all of its competition.
Video pretty much confirms that we won't be getting any new engines. No V8, no TT V6. Nothing at least for another year. A lot of time is spent talking about driver feel.... but man, it's gonna be a hard sell to any enthusiast.
Even more disappointing was that zero effort was made to boost the performance of the current 2GR- and it's somehow even SLOWER than before?
I swear, if they're still using the 6 speed transmission in the AWD...

I do like the design as stated earlier. Overall, just not enough of an effort to consider one. Since we were talking audio earlier I really want to hear that new mark Levinson system. They added a heck of a lot of power and 2 additional speakers.
There may be no greater fan of IS than Toyota President Akio Toyoda, who notes the vehicle’s special place in his heart during the introduction to the Art of Lexus book, where he credits the IS as “The car that really taught me what performance driving was, and it was the moment when my love affair with Lexus began.”

So I missed the event but did watch the Lexus scripted q and a after. They still were not ruling out and still hinting at an is-f version under development in that conversation. Not going to hold my breath but clearly not a dead idea.
other takeaway was they had both touchscreen and pad access which is nice
