I mean, they're not selling. They're stacked. My MB dealer has started stocking less of them.

$11,500 off just to start is a pretty good discount.

I was offered it with about 5 minutes of negotiation. That includes the $7,500 lease rebate. That dealer also would only come off $3k on an S580…so they’re not an easy touch.

They are not selling where you live, but they are selling in other EV friendly states like California and in Europe. I showed you the growth figures, NA sales more than 200 percent over last year. MB only introduced them last year. As soon as MB starts making them look more normal, and when the pricing goes down, their sales numbers will go up. When Tesla introduced the Model 3 in 2017, nobody thought they would sell. Now Model Y and 3 are best sellers here in California. Hyundai Ioniq 5 is another huge seller here due to lease incentives, and in the luxury segment, BMW i4 and EQS are not doing too bad. I can post the numbers again, EQS sold in 2023 Q3 61,600 world-wide, I believe they outsold as whole S-Class

That's actually the case for every dealership. Inventories are now returning to normal. The local Toyota dealership near my office (Envision Toyota) earlier this year had an empty lot, now it's full to the brim. They also own a Honda dealership, and same thing, it's full to the brim. I can walk in and walk out with most cars exception being the new Toyota Crown, GR Corolla, and Sienna

EV sales in general are fizzling right now. Everyone is dropping prices, even Tesla. The supply is huge and the demand isn't meeting it. Remember only 1 in 9 MB are sold EV nationally... for a brand that claims to never be using an ICE again that's not a great sign..

I never said nobody at all is buying EQS, just that I haven't seen them here. Like I've said, here people drive the biggies and to hell with gas mileage.

They improved the suspension on Model 3 and Y to make them more tolerable and appropriate for the types of vehicles that they are, their goal wasn’t to make it luxurious.
Adding little strips of ambient light is very welcome, I love ambient lighting, but it’s nowhere near the level of ambient lighting coming from any of the Germans, especially Mercedes.
Of course.

People need to experience before they make some blunt statements about these cars. Even BMW can't come close when luxury is the key factor. And the 3 pointed star can be had illuminated too.

not 'even tesla' - tesla has been LEADING the charge on lowering prices for over a year to keep or grow demand/sales and basically others aren't following, but there's less ADM more 'rebates' and room for negotiation because they have to compete.

The supply is huge and the demand isn't meeting it.
i'm guessing that makes you happy.

MB isn't "never using ICE again", they've said they're not designing new ICE engines, they know full well it will take many more years before they're no longer selling ice vehicles.

Like I've said, here people drive the biggies and to hell with gas mileage.
i just talked to a guy who drives an f250 with a 6.2L i think? i asked him his mpg and he said 10. i told him he's paying roughly ten times the energy cost to drive that vs. my ev. it got his attention.

but we're not supposed to be having yet more ice vs ev discussions here... so perhaps leave ice out of it.

Respectfully, if EV sales are fizzling out, how do you explain Mercedes EV sales growth over 200 percent from last quarter? I would mention another companies 3rd quarter numbers, but I can't here. I would argue Mercedes sales are all down, as shown by their Q3 numbers

In fact their highest growth number is the EQS SUV at 2458.1 percent

I didn't say "stopping" I said "fizzling". People will always want to buy EVs, but I think lots of people and automakers overshot this. There are lots of EVs gathering dust across the nation on lots, remember not everywhere is SoCal. Teslas here are insane but that's about it for EVs.

And yes, MB has zero plans to develop any new ICEs.... I hate it too.

question is just where and when.

fact that Ford is losing 4b on producing some 50k EVs this year is a Ford problem, not an EV problem. People will buy other non Ford evs like they are doing today.

I used your words, see my post. It's price cuts from a certain company I can't name that is causing pain to legacy automakers, who haven't figured out how to build EV'S profitably. Once those companies stop losing money on EV'S things will change. Hyundai is already figuring it out, which is why they are expanding their line of EV's
