For those aware of the Nissan Teana that wasn't sold here…
Surely it will drive better but be more tuned to the Avalon crowd than the Sport Sedan crowd. It never sold very well but it has its niche and when they are 10k off in a few months they were be an internet darling.

You would have been better off using the Nissan Versa's rear
From the early prototype reviews the standard Genesis will be about as sporty as a standard E-class with the sportier R-spec arriving at a later date to compete with the sport versions of the CTS V-Sport, 550i, and GS350 F-Sport.
Not a fan of the new exterior but that interior design looks to be a huge improvement over the previous Genesis, especially the center dashboard/shifter area.
Hmm... Are the rear indicators dual purposed as reverse lights ie switchback LEDs? I don't see where the reverse lights are.
I would assume those are reverse lights as the red part of the taillights light up red only:
I have seen manufactures combine certain lighting elements such as white/blue DRLs that either turn amber when the turn signals are on or have both white and amber LEDs positioned in the same housing.

E-class ain't sporty unless its an AMG. I'll believe it when I see it as the current R-spec isn't sporty but has a lovely big V-8 engine.

Who cares how it drives. As far as I know it is RWD with a V8 engine. A very nice combination.
Lexus, BMW, Mercedes have all b*itched out by not offering a V8
I would easily choose this over a POS 528i
Heck I would even choose the V8 Genesis over the GS350
^^ And that Nissan above is called the Maxima here.
This is the real deal. Videos and pics all over the net. All these stupid photos of comparisons to Nissans etc. detract from the topic on hand.
Cant wait to see the R-spec.
Yes but here Mercedes no longer offers the E550. And the only V8 powered 5 series you can buy is the ///M
Most people drive the 528i or the diesel 5 series.
By ///M I assume you're talking about the 577 hp M5(with competition package)
The 445 hp 550i is certainly still offered. I am certainly confused as to Mercedes-Benz's tactics. The E400 is supposed to replace the E550 but it is no faster than the 535i, is slower than the A6 3.0T Supercharged and is no where near the caliber of the Twin-turbo V6 in the CTS V-Sport.
