Yes, that's been noted in the press, also. It's throttle programming, that's all. Hyundai needs to make it a little more aggressive.
Yeah Hyundai need to revamp their throttle mapping. Almost every hyundai, if not all feel slower off the line than their competitors with less power. But after 60mph or so you start to see and feel the power advantage..
Throttle mapping and slowish gear shifts are the issue.

IS350jet, yowps3, Thanks for answering.
Anyone find photos of the 2015 R-Spec? I realize the quad exhaust indicates the 5.0 but I was hoping to see some external treatments differentiating the R-spec from the base model.
Instead of adding another post I figured I would ask here...
Any information regarding those rear seat monitors? Curious what they do and are they offered in the Korean markets only?

Reason: added a question
The V8s make up around 30% for the Genesis. The E400 is not making V8 power it is only listed at 329 hp/354 lb-ft compared to the Genesis's 333 hp(less torque however at 291 lb-ft) for its V6.
The 5.0 V8 in the Genesis isn't being sold with giant discounts please provide evidence to suggest otherwise.
First drives of the 2015 Genesis suggest that the ride is much better than the previous gen. At the track however some note that there is more body roll than acceptable however the cars were in fact prototypes and were KDM spec with softer suspension settings than what we will get here in the states.
So 1 car that isn't even a 2014 model. As far as I know every single car company does the exact same thing when trying to sell out previous model years.
They tried to say the same thing about the GS's interior...
I don't see much other than the fact all 3 have horizontal center console.
GS is different from the 5, esp the GS has that HUGE screen which was a new thing.
GS is original enough.
Look closely at the Genesis steering wheel buttons andcontrols - direct copy of the BMW.
Same for the design of the center stack and shape/***** for climate and radio.
Just blatant copy.
Look at the window wiper stalk - all BMW! Lol crazy

And that was never my intent to try and say the GS's interior resembled that of the 5-series. Merely to point out that someone will always accuse car X of doing something similar to car Y. But however one can make similar points about the GS as they can for the Genesis namely horizontal vents and the trim of the steering wheel to the similar placement of what looks like the volume and tuning dials. I can clearly see significant differences between all 3 interiors and will never confuse any of them. Your main assumption possibly stems from the fact that each car is trying for the Germanic look as according to the car industry that is what sells the best in the luxury segments.

The R-Spec likely won't be unveiled until sometime next year. I wish they would position it as a competitor to the high performance cars but it will likely be positioned alongside the 550i, CTS V-Sport, etc.

CP1/Yeh can you stop trying to leverage any way to include Lexus and insult Lexus in Hyundai threads here. You can promote Hyunda/Kiai without bringing up Lexus. Thanks.

Like I told one of these other members, I really don't care who you are don't you EVER try and tell me who I am. That is not adult like in the least bit. I can tell you now he isn't a black college student.
Haven't mentioned Lexus? Have you scrolled down the page? What do I need to say that hasn't been said before? They have an awesome lightweight chassis in need of more powerful engines and have the best quality interior of the class. Insulted Lexus where? The 5-series interior is terrible, busy and material wise is highly inferior. I really don't get it.

are you saying IS's circular controls are direct copy of MB's circular controls? is Volvo steering a direct copy of MB too? shape is similar?
this 'blatant copy' talk is seriously getting old. Hyundai would be the first to tell you that they bench marked 5 series. i know car industry, and many of them went to same friggin schools. it's almost impossible to come up with new because almost every possible variations of design has been explored. and hyundai can't do something too daring yet.
this is hyundai when they tried something new.
trust me. you don't want hyundai to be 'imaginative' with 40k+ car yet. lol they will foul it up like above(eh, it's not bad, but it's too love/hate) and it won't look as good as their derivative direction

Thx..I wish the same however I agree that the sport component will be mildly upgraded from the base model.
For my DD type activities and slightly spirited driving from time to time, it may suffice for me As long as the exterior treatments are worth the upgraded price.
this is what people said in bimmer forum on new lexus - analog clock!! it's a blatant copy!! is that Bangle's idrive control? oh my!! and there are 2 buttons about 10 inches apart in the dash!! oh my!! exactly 10 inches!! so blatant!!

I totally agree. It is definitely getting a little long in the tooth. Even in my car reviews, where I describe a car stem-to-stern in detail and give a long list of plusses/minuses, I generally don't pan a vehicle for something that looks like a copy of another one. It is extremely difficult, nowadays, with the sheer number of vehicles now or formerly in production, to design something that is TRULY new and doesn't look like SOMEBODY else, somewhere down the line. IMO, people that harp on this are just beating a dead horse.
