508 is Camry like vehicle. I am not sure what are you guys thinking :-).

yeah, 508 SW Hybrid is nicer, has nicer interior but still something like Camry.

It cant compare in any way possible to this Genesis.

I see plenty of them every day, i rode in them, tested them. They are ok, but they are not awesome... Hybrid is cool but thats about it.

These guys are on a roll. I think there are many people waiting and watching the Genesis. Its a great car that continues to evolve rapidly and is aesthetically pleasing . Great job. I think I would be more likely to buy a Genesis than a Cadilac to be honest if I were to ever leave Lexus

The Genesis sedan and the Equus is closest to Lexus GS and LS then anything else.

MSRP of a fully loaded 5.0 R is $47k.

Cadillac CTS blows the Geneisis aesthetically speaking that is.

I wish we had Cadillac in Australia.

And no doubt it drives much better.

The Hyundai though has a V8 offering. I don't think the Peugeot does? That's the deciding factor for me
thanks J....

Gotcha however I was using real world pricing in the Northeast. Also, follow on Genesis forums where a member just bought a 2013 r spec. for 38k

Hehe I was actually comparing that car versus the Hyundai Azera 3.0 V6

The Azera 3.0 V6 is one class higher than the 508 (even though both fall under D-segment/midsize executive categories)..........and they seem pretty neck-and-neck.

They seem neck-and-neck in the features. The two are similar in that Both have Harman sound systems (Infinity for the Hyundai Azera; JBL for the Peugeot 508). Both have power seats, leather seats, both are front-wheel drive, both have HID Bi-Xenon headlamps, etc etc.....

However, there are differences. The 508 has a Diesel which gives better fuel economy. The Azera 3.0 V6 however has a lower price. The 508 lacks seat memory function while the Azera lacks a rear back-up camera (for our local market).

In a way, it evens out.

Still, with that in mind, I'm *kinda* leaning towards the 508 for at least two reasons

1) The possibility of getting it in Station Wagon/Estate form

Unlike in Europe, station wagons/estate/tourers are rare where I come from. If I want something that is more unique, then the 508 SW GT is what I should be looking at.

Also, in terms of design:
508 SW > 508 sedan/saloon

Rear-end looks better imho

2) Peugeot is more unique than Hyundai where I'm from

I have nothing against Hyundai. To be honest, I like them. I like this new Azera, without a doubt. Still, in an overall sense, I believe that in the Philippines, there will always be more Hyundai vehicles than Peugeot vehicles.

Sure in France, Peugeot outsells Hyundai by 10:1 (or in Europe by at least 2:1). But here in the Philippines, Euro cars will always be more-or-less exclusive compared to Asian cars.

Hence, for me, this kind of uniqueness is something that draws me to the Peugeot 508.

And if I get the station wagon, then it's rare for the country imho.

*Which is surprisingly because I've seen at least eight 508 sedans but only two Hyundai Azera cars

Anyways, just saying

Yeah I saw a few pics of the RXH Hybrid

It's like an XC70 competitor which is nice

However, most auto journalists would criticize that car's gearbox which is an EGC aka Peugeot Semi Automated Manual Transmission.

They say it's utter rubbish and basically ruins the driving experience. For instance, it's basically a manual without a clutch pedal......but you can't think of it as an automatic.

Hence, if you don't release the gas/accelerator pedal when changing gear, then you get this annoying jerking motion.

This however does not affect the 2.0 diesel units as well as the 2.2 HDI GT Diesel as they get a proper 6 speed automatic.

It really does look like a Chinese copy of a 5 Series from the front, and a mixture of several competitor designs from the sides and rear.

Nothing to see here.

dang 38k for the genesis r spec sedan ? that's a freaking deal.

IMO the current outgoing genesis is one of the best looking asian sedans out there. it beats the characterless
lexus GS ES LS designs. Wow that a deal but the 8banger is gonna guzzle gas.

The outgoing Genesis is a nice looking car, but I don't see how anyone can say it has any sort of character...

well it looks of a luxury asian car rather than a petrie dish of audi mercedes bmw.

it still has the "classic" luxury car look is what I'm saying. More suitable for VIPCAR styling than the ES GS LS.

as u see in the es gs, it took a different from.
