My wife has a 2013 rx350, I saw the new highlander for the first time yesterday. I instantly regret buying the rx. If only the highlander came out 2 months earlier.

We bought a 2013 RX350 back in October, after looking at the new Highlander (had an opportunity to look at a preproduction model). We found the new Highlander to be a huge improvement over the previous model, but still preferred the RX. Just a matter of taste. For us, the Highlander had a certain mini-van vibe that the RX did not. Both are great vehicles, though.
When it's time to replace the RX, I'm sure we'll give the Highlander another look.
I'm of the firm conviction that, in most cases, especially with vehicles running less than 40-50K, there is simply nothing like having a brand-new vehicle. IMO, it is usually worth the extra money over a used one. I'm aware of the depreciation argument for used vehicles, but feel that the lower risk with a brand-new vehicle usually outweighs those arguments. Of course, CPOs, for several reasons, do lower the risk of a used vehicle...but, of course, you usually also pay more for a CPO because of the inspection/refurbishing process....so you're also saving less money.
highlander in a heartbeat. i just hate buying used cars. just hate the idea of it. i bought few used car before and i hated it.
i haven't driven the new highlander yet, but it looks great. i'm sure it will drive great too.
i swear to god, it drives smoother and quieter than the RX. It handles well too and I found the new speed sensitive electric steering to be extremely precise and pleasant.

I agree 100%, I like a new car.
Even aside from the new vs used car, the Highlander would be my choice. I think the Highlander has a better interior, I think its more functional and spacious. The RX is classier...thats really it...and I'm talking the refreshed 2013 RX. I even prefer the styling of the Highlander to a 2011 RX..
I have owned 2 RX'es (350 and 450h) but the '14 Highlander does look good. I would go with the Highlander IF it has ALL the fancy options (limited grade), otherwise, NO, go with the RX.
The Muppets hit the road in the all-new Highlander but Scooter has some trouble telling them exactly where they're headed. Join the shenanigans by tweeting @Toyota with #NoRoomForBoring
The latest Muppets movie was pretty good and they seem to be having a resurgence…Terry Crews is hilarious…If someone doesn't Toyota or the Highlander much anyway it didn't matter what they did.
It also has 3 million views in 2+ days, I would kill for that….
