I have a 2011 RX350 loaded and a base 2014 Highlander. Both AWD. I can tell you with 100% certainty that the Highlander is quieter, smoother, has better NVH, better ride. The interior is just as luxurious in my opinion.
diggin the highlander . what's the msrp on the base model ? any dealer incentives right now? I'm assuming not. Toyota and lexus gets whatever they ask.
anyone know if the base model comes standard with back up camera ?
dang this is stiff at MSRP and dealers are nut budging one bit.
Tantrix why are you even looking at a Highlander? I thought per your other posts that it would be one of your "fake" SUV's and wouldn't measure up to the Durango that you seem to be decided on.
Backup Camera is indeed Standard on the Highlander, data is quickly available on the Toyota.com Website.
Or Edmunds, or if you have USAA, American Express, Costco, etc there are lots of member car buying services that can help you get a price if you aren't comfortable negotiating.
I never compared it to the 2014 highlander. IMO toyota did a nice job on it.

I know you never compared it to the 2014 Highlander specifically, but the Highlander fits the same mold as the RX in terms of structure/architecture and capabilities, which you were vehemently against in the other threads.
But I digress. Highlander is off to a successful start, as you're witnessing with high demand and little wiggle room at dealers, but there are still deals to be had. Just need to work for them, find the right avenues.
the rx looks, I don't even know what it's suppose to look like.
but yeah we digress, the base 4 banger highlander supposedly true cars for 29k but none of the dealerships have it.
and the 6 banger gives off 18 to 24 mpg, the durango 6 cylinder that gives off 18 to 24 mpg starts at 25k. So it's a hard choice. At end of the day the toyota will have stronger resale. I do somewhat still look the bold broad shouldered durango but the highlander does look very handsome as well.
tough one. The highlander is selling for over msrp I think.

Sitting pretty under the cover. It's pretty much my weekend car wit the kids. I still have a 2001 honda odyssey van and a DD for work. Can't wait to break her in.

Congrats on such a fine vehicle.
