How different is the 4.0L compared to the ubiquitous 3.5?

Are you buying or leasing? A 4x4 4Runner will hold it's value better than almost anything, though I know you are considering 4X2.

Wife looked at both of these, went with the 4runner limited as she wanted something more SUV based and does not like the mini-van \ crossover look..... also to confirm someone from above, the 4runner does a great job in terms of resale

I work at Toyota and this is one dilemma I hear from customers all the time.

Most end up with the highlander, the ones who pick the 4runners are usually single guys.

This says it all. If you are looking for a family hauler, and not an off roader, the Highlander makes sense here. PLUS, if you are spending the equivalent amount of money, why would you want an SR5, instead of an XLE? If you want the most for your $$, go with the Highlander.

The Muppets Mentor Terry Crews in Toyota's Super Bowl Ad
http://www.adweek.com/adfreak/muppet...bowl-ad-155129
After watching Terry Crews scream his way through many an Old Spice ad, it's hard to imagine him as boring. But that's the premise of Toyota's upcoming Super Bowl ad for the Highlander, in which Crews receives life lessons from none other than the Muppets.

Created by Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles and hashtagged #NoRoomForBoring, the 60-second spot, titled "Joyride," features an original song about "unborifying" your life. The Muppets partnership is a dual promotion, highlighting both the 2014 Highlander and Disney's upcoming film Muppets Most Wanted.

I sat in a couple of them at the DC car show. HUGE improvement over the previous generation. Don't love the front, and the styling inside is sort of plain, but interior quality is MUCH improved.

Sat in an LE a few days ago. HUGE improvement on the inside. Still not in love with the grille, but that interior is simply amazing, they did a fantastic job on it and it is easily best in class.

looks like a nice vehicle. their website though, not so much.

i go look at specs, trim levels...
http://www.toyota.com/highlander/features.html

shows LE, LE Plus, XLE and Limited - fair enough.

i then go to build, in my area (florida), which takes me to toyota's DISTRIBUTOR website southeast toyota distributor.

try to pick a model, and first, it's still showing 2013 and 2014, ok, fair enough, i select 2014. now it's showing the v6 2014 models still have a 5 speed transmission and that there's a platinum trim level not even mentioned (and no info available as far as i can tell) on the main toyota website. it's enough to drive ya mad i tell ya
