My mom is looking at the new Highlander real hard to replace her '04 Pilot. we really like the Limited 2wd model, but we don't like the 2nd row captain chairs, wish Limited offers an option to swap them for the bench seats, i know the XLE has that, but she really likes the panoramic roof of the Limited.
yeah what's up with that... i think most people would prefer 2nd row bench, even on higher trim level.
Wait--what?? The RX doesn't have A/C controls in the back seat? My '04 Pilot had that feature...
And the 2014 Acura RDX doesn't even have A/C vents in the rear, different cars don't offer different things.…. The RX has never been positioned as a family hauler as a Pilot or Highlander...
Widely regarded as one of the more conservative offerings among midsize SUVs, the Toyota Highlander enters its third generation bearing a host of meaningful enhancements. Do these changes amount to a more engaging package? Kelley Blue Book's Zach Vlasuk finds out in this video.
driven can hit it from steering wheel, and they can hit setup as well, which they dont have on steering wheel... on the other hand passanger can use phone on his side... it is the way it should be.

Yeah it's kind of unacceptable. There's simply two vents from the back of the center console with a shut off dial. Everything is controlled by the front. Hopefully the next RX which should get bigger and more luxurious has it.
At long last here is the full review of the 2014 Toyota Highlander crossover. Sadly I wasn't able to get my hands on an 8-seat version but I do talk about it. Join me as I drive 911 miles in the Highlander and compare it to all the cars you asked me to back when I tested the pre-production one late last year.
^^^ I love this guy's reviews. He is very thorough.
Agree with the Grand Cherokee and Sienna rear resemblance. My wife told me it looks "minivanish" like she said about the MDX , Pathfinder, and QX60. I tend to agree since these 7-passenger vehicles are carving more and more space towards the optimized minivan packaging.

Same here on considering the Highlander. I love the RX (heck I bought three), but the fit and finish of the new Highlander Limited/Platinum and promises of a smooth, low NVH and refined drive are tempting, all for 10K less than a similarly equipped RX. Plus the macho Grand Cherokee styling and "RX-like" rear lights are growing on me fast. Looking forward to your review in particular ride comfort, handling, and NVH.
Was at the Toyota dealer today incognito (not ready to deal with sales reps just yet ), took some (crappy) pics of the interior base LE. Lots of soft-touch high-quality-textured materials. Nice interior even the base model, but Limited all the way for me.
On paper it seems well done so I am going in with pretty good expectations.
