Or...hear me out...the Mitsu Outlander PHEV. Nor sure how attractive the leasing options are or if either of these are to your tastes, but, just a thought.
This is where a good manager says "OK, there are no bad ideas...."
I had an brainwave earlier (to quote the great Jeremy Clarkson)...Mazda CX-90 has a surprisingly good bit of room in and behind the 3rd row...stellar build quality and reliability. I-6 is a powerhouse and you have a PHEV option...

CX90 is definitely one we will look at, they're on the tighter side inside though.
Hahaha. This is what I did with my wife's CX-9; and when I was replacing my 3-Series, I told my youngest (who was then driving the CX-9) that we were getting rid of the Mazda and he was going to take the 3-Series (it was newer and had less miles)--and he resisted and said he'd rather stay with the mom-mobile . He lost that argument...
My (now) 18yo daughter inherited our old '11 CX9 when she turned 16, but we had to get rid of it (cost benefit of ownership didn't math) and she was relegated to driving my wife's old '08 LS460. She HATED the Lexus and wanted something like the old "EGG". She got her wish - she's now rolling around in the '20 Murano Platinum. Damn kids....

Yeah my son just didn't want a sedan, and he preferred to stay with an SUV
Think of it this way... with time flying the way it does (my twins are almost 14 and I literally can't believe that), you could keep the Pacifica for just under 4 years and hand it down to your twins to use as their first car. Start them off with a swagger wagon!

I actually have thought of this!
Please don’t put the kids in the minivan as their first car.
Those who have twins, what do you typically do, buy 1 car and they share it or buy them own their separate cars?

I wouldn't, I was more thinking whatever we got could be their first car after we're done with it.
I think for us it would depend on how they are as kids. If they have a lot of separate things they want/need to go and do we will probably get them each a car.

No twins here, but 2 daughters 2 years apart. Unfortunately had to go with 2 separate cars - way too much going on at that age (between high school activities, work, and social life).
Yeah the third row is where these vehicles win or lose, some of them adults can fit back there in a pinch, and some are more just for kids. We need the more "adults can fit back there in a pinch"

The only reason my GS350 is sitting parked on the street is this. My daughter just got her permit and my son is 16. Why buy another car when I already have one that's paid off already.

Josh.....I remember when you asked me to review a new Outlander, some years ago...which I did. Since then, the number of Mitsubishi dealerships, even in the area where I live, has dwindled to almost nothing. I sometimes wonder how the brand still manages to stay in the American market.
