They will show more of it on the 30th. Just another concept that will probably not go into production. But it will definitely be very science fiction - like Tron. There is a Galaxy theme going on.

that 2nd part i can't agree with lol... i'd argue that even to most car people it's not particularly iconic, however that's fine with me since i know history will be very favorable to the OG lexus that truly pursued perfection

outside of america it's definitely NOT an iconic name, just look how the top gear audience (especially silly hammond lol) reacted when james may proposed it as a 'future classic'

Oh no, I disagree. People know the Lexus LS. Most remember them being all over the place at one time and that beginning advertising I still remember how great it is.

Who cares? LS400 was built for America. Clarkson thinks Jags are the best thing since sliced bread, or he used to.

Top Gear admitted an LS400 was more refined than a Rolls Royce... so there are some fans. But as a brand over there, Lexus isn't big at all but it wasn't ever intended to be.

Go to 2:00 in.

See how they are biased toward Jaguar? "This car has the chops to go head to head with the S-Class, 7 series, and even maybe the Jaguar XJ6."

"Even the Jaguar Xj6?" They were beautiful but that's about all, about last in the pack for the best luxury car of the late 90s.

So the really fast (for then) LS400 with the smoothest V8 powertrain you could possibly find... it almost beats a 6 cylinder, cramped inside Jaguar. Right.

A high end luxury van would be very cool to see. But not as the LS. Call it something else.
Reminds me of Acura and the RSX...but this is probably worse since the RSX name was out of use for a long time.

IMO the LS500 looks far too similar to the much cheaper ES350. You really have to know what to look for(besides the emblem) to tell what it is.

Nobody is mistaking an S-class for a CLA.

Imagine the leg room on that thing. Not sure where you can park it in public.

It’s only a concept car, and it will not be bigger than the biggest SUV if they actually produce that thing, most likely with only 4 wheels IMO …

Nope. The original UZ engines were noticeably smoother, quieter, and more buttery..... didn't hunt through gears.

1998-2000 and all LS430 years were the best. Post facelift LS430 preferred.

I only meant style wise. The 4.6 is trash compared to a UZ motor. Greatest motor in Toyota history is a UZ. But LS600h has a superb 5.0 V8 married to hybrid technology. And a mechanical full time AWD system that was mechanical with a Torsen differential. Just needed to be PHEV

People do confuse the S Class for the C Class though, all the time. Always have.

I loved my refresh LS460s, but the best looking overall LS was still the 98-00 LS400 IMO. It was so elegant with simple lines and adornments but with some surprisingly complex sheetmetal...
