I went to the Bears/Commanders game and we took my friend’s wife’s new black/black LX600. It was a nice smooth drive and the back seats were nice and comfortable and the leather was nice and soft. The center console looked pretty cool and was nice and wide. The rear climate controls were nice and it had both heated and cooled seats in the back. However, there were so many negatives from my point of view.
For the price here is what bothered me. The dash was nicely stitched but it didn’t look like a real leather dash compared to what I had on my X7, Durango or Cayenne. The headliner wasn’t alcantara like the other vehicles I just mentioned but it was a nice smooth cover. The side window shades are manual, should be electronic at this price point. Third row seating was small for our kids sitting back there and there was absolutely zero room behind them. Lastly, the center stack looks absolutely terrible and out of place to me with the tacked on top screen as if it was an afterthought.
All in all a nice vehicle but not something for me at its price point.

Yep. The Denali is as nice inside as the LX, or close enough. Not to mention the Escalade.
I know all I do is bring it up but no power running boards for $130k???
How can I love the 200 so much and hate the 300 like this? They just screwed the pooch. Interior design as you point out is horrible and makes the already small truck feel cramped. In the GMC it feels like you're in a small NYC apartment space-wise. People like lots of space and room.

The other thing was on the ride home I was sitting behind the drivers seat and I hardly had any leg room and I’m not a tall person. It was uncomfortable and I dont think the rear seats slide back. Even if they did there were people in the third row.
The color, limo like was not doing that LX any favors. This generation, the only version I am interested in is the LX700h Ultra Luxuy, and only as a passenger in the rear right. The attention to detail is as good as it gets in this era of Lexus products...which is not saying much.

That's also unfortunate!!!!!
The back seats in our LX are equally as comfy as the fronts, plenty of room too. And yes there's a power sliding bench and you can manually adjust the recline. It's seriously nice back there, though I never get to enjoy it. I'm always the driver up to ROC lol. We usually drive that up there in the winters, GMC in summer.

The wide bench seat is what sold us our LX570 plus with the ability to move it forward/backwards if needed plus reclining. Why Lexus would remove that feature? I don’t think the Sequoia 2nd row can move forward or backwards. I believe only new Lexus/Toyota SUV capable is the Lexus TX and Toyota Grand Highlander (the people movers). They have a ton of space in every row.
Glad the 2nd row in the X7 can move forward/backward and recline. I keep the 2nd row pushed back in its furthest position. However the bench isn’t as wide as the LX 570 and also in the LX 570 you could put 3 kids in the 3rd row vs 3rd row in X7 only has 2 seatbelts like the LX 600/700. If I recall the LX600 has small bucket seats in the 3rd row.
great write-up patgilm. this new LX is an epic failure in packaging, the bad center stack, and price.
i’ve no doubt it’s very capable off road but 99% of the few buyers it will get will never take it off road.

You mentioned price.point on thr LX up above.
What is the price?
Partially agree. In the US, the LX still makes no sense, and sales volumes and incentives packages are evidence. However globally this thing has further confirmed in the minds of the program and management that the 300; in all its variants was right on the money by pushing units out more then ever before.
Fuel light on this car always leaves me with nearly 3 gallons in the tank....so I do I pull a Bayoulex and see how far I can actually go or just fill it again as normal?
Also managed a perfect 20.0 going to work and back today, I have found the perfect balance of full power runs and coasting to keep the number high.

If you’re not averaging in then teens and don’t foresee any traffic, I say let it ride🎲
I pumped 21.7 gallons in the X7 21.9 gas tank last weekend. 😬
