Flogging the absolute hell out of them and never changing oil is peak midwestern 4Runner owner behavior. Don't forget the massive aftermarket rims, lights, and extra stuff that never goes off road to ensure sub 15mpg at all times
They are an excellent, consistent source of both income and screaming at rust

Oh that's a beauty. And that price is crazy good. But I bet this car will need plenty of work not even been driven 40k miles in 33 years, so the new owner will be paying more. Those had the biodegradable crap in them and just were a little finicky. I'd take a well driven one of these with 80k over this example without thinking twice.
I wouldn't touch an R129 unless is was 1999-2002, the final ones with the M113 V8 and the 722.5 automatic.
But yeah, she's a beauty.
BTW that Riviera, can you even begin to imagine the cowl shake? Whew.
