My counter argument is that is no country anywhere allows you to be wherever you want in bar road with no regard for yielding position or keeping out of the dedicated lanes.
There are countries with unlimited zones that by the numbers are less dangerous, speed isn't a problem when used where appropriate. Being in the wrong place is always wrong and WILL always cause a crash.
But you aren’t in one of those zone in those countries. That’s like saying you can drive 75 MPH on a neighborhood street because you can do that on some roads. That makes no sense.

Agree. We have all done dumb stuff but it’s the unwillingness to admit it’s dumb…I have done all that stuff too l, it’s all dumb.

I had a green light and stepped on the gas. I didn’t back off to some DB thinking he was gonna be slick running a light to cut me off and I relish knowing that huge razor Denali grill in his face forced him to back off. Sue me. I said that even if I started off slow he would have still hit me.
That was aggressive driving and vigilantism and it was wrong. I just saw this play out last night in Ocean City. This guy in a pizza delivery car pissed off this old guy in a pickup truck and the car is weaving in and out and at every light the guy in the pickup would lean out of his car and yell obscenities at the guy in the car. Guy in the car was wrong, but the guy in the pickup wasn’t making it right by also being more unsafe. And here we are and everybody else with our families in our cars at the beach and we’re put at risk because of it.
Nobody died but you could have had an accident. You could have been hurt. Your car could have been ruined. He could have jumped out of his car and shot you. That happens. I have learned that it’s just not worth it. At the end of the day he’s him and you’re you, so you win.

Lol and I don't care about anything over there (it sucks like I said) and they let you be a big smart ***, so it's pretty much turning into fun.
Dude is saying a Yukon is an acceptable tow vehicle but a Sierra is terrible, even though they have the same frame...engine, etc. etc.
So why can you tow way more with a pickup than an SUV then? He keeps talking about chassis flex as if a 1500 will wiggle to pieces towing a boat.
That guy will absolutely die on that hill. As some other member there said to me he is the “absolute arbiter of right and wrong”. He and I (and everybody else) went around and around about dealers. He insists the only competent person who can work on a Mercedes is a dealer tech and that everybody who has bad service at a MB dealer it’s their fault (lots of people). He also insists that the MB GLE and GLS is the best car ever made and that anybody who has problems and posts about them is a troll (which lets me honest, not the most reliable cars ever made by anybody’s definition) lol
Lol you're not gonna tell me that what I did was unsafe yet justify going impossibly illegal speeds above 150MPH on public roads, it ain't gonna fly.
And I didn't get in his way, he was in MY way. I had the green light for the millionth time. He ran a red light, well, just about as badly as a light can be run.
150 isn't a "non-event' even if you have a sled like that.
Try a big SUV with tons of "GTF outta my way" presence that makes people get out of the way when they screw up. It's really a non-event.
What happens in this scenario when the other vehicle is also a big SUV? Just give each other the finger and move on?
So the condo we are staying in at the Beach has an assigned space that isn’t one I would have chosen…let’s put it that way. The little kid in the car next to us flung his door open and got the Pacifica pretty good in the drivers door. At least they left a note. Nice people.
Unfortunately I don’t think it will go 100% with PDR, there are two dings and the paint is damaged pretty bad. I’m sure it will come out enough that with touch up paint it will be fine. I hate to be without it for a week+ while the door is painted. About of that white is paint transfer but there is definitely missing paint.
Unfortunately that reinforced why my wife insists we need a minivan lol. I told the woman that was the greatest damage it did!

Wow, what kind of car/door hit you to do two dings like that? Good on them for leaving a note, that never happens, ever. I would just get PDR and then order Dr. Colorchip or whatever it is, I heard the kit they provide is really good for chips in paint.

It’s a Subaru Forester. It was the rear passenger door with that sharp corner and she said her son was excited to get to the beach and just flung the door open as hard as he could. My kids do that too so it was hard to be mad. I texted them yesterday and then today they were there getting into it when I walked by and I introduced myself. He was 7 and he said he was sorry!
Yeah that’s what I’m going to do, with the dark color it will be fine. If it were the Mercedes I would be upset but this thing takes its lumps lol. Mercedes never would have been parked in that spot to begin with. When we used to drive both cars down here I parked it across the lot in the unreserved spots in an end space.

Towing same load with LX 570 and my Tundra, at higher speeds the trailer would get a little squirrelly in the LX570 whereas in the Tundra it would stay planted at same and even higher speeds. But I see guys who tow their track cars with SUVs everytime I go to the track.
Better than a 1/2 truck? That’s a stretch. Trucks typically have longer wheelbase than SUVs that helps with towing.

Yeah LX will tow until the cows come home but I'm not surprised the Tundra is better.
And like I've said, people with LXs don't tow the huge loads like you do.. They're like me towing a ski boat boat, which it handles beautifully...at least 2-3k pounds less than the max. The engine doesn't struggle, at alllll.

You know exactly what I mean, don't use a false equivalency like that lol!
Is that GLE guy insane? Or just a professional troll? I guess I should stop working in Mercedes cars then, apparently an 100% repair success rate with zero comebacks means I'm an idiot.

Yes it totally is. It's well under 20 seconds from a dead stop and literally is a one hand on wheel event with no drama at all.
The car makes a major difference, you may not like that fact but it is a fact that higher ability cars effectively reduce the effort of speed. Think of your LS at 90 vs a same year Camry, it's just no comparison and they quite literally engineered the car to do that and much higher speeds
