Quote: Even I had to say my piece with that one.

That's like saying a 1500 is better at going 150 down the autobahn...
Right! Lol

WWI suspensions lol. “If it’s not multi link it’s from WW1 when the GLE/GLS has a double wishbone front setup and not multi link.

WW1 suspensions......??????

That was OVER 100 YEARS AGO.

I'm gonna go hand crank my car to go get someone from the airport here in about 20 minutes.... LOL. That's better than just hitting a button/turning a key.

A lot of Mercedes people never, EVER admit any flaws or faults...and this goes wayyyy back to when I first got active on forums at the turn of the century. Though I don't hold a GLE not towing like a 1500 against it bc .... it wasn't designed for it.

It’s ridiculous lol. I mean if you’re going to tow something light every once in a while. A little trailer or a jetski or something it’s great. But not serious towing.

Then he’s saying only the Ram has a fully boxed frame etc which is also not true. All 1/2 ton American pickups have fully boxed frames. True most have leaf springs in the back but that’s for payload and the reality of not wanting to take up bed space for suspension components. If you want a great rear suspension get the Ram with air springs or a Raptor.

Quote: I actually was on there too the other day.... Not a whole lot to see/do there. It's NOTHING like here.
Quote: No, nothing like here. And no good general area.
I'm biased here but Club Lexus is the best. We have such a wide variety of great members like both of you guys and countless others.

I will say the IS forum was insanely busy when I first joined in 07. You could hit refresh on your browser and 10 new topics appeared. It's not like that anymore. Even when the economy crapped out in 08-09 it remained busy as hell.

Lol...I'm definitely in the minority on plates here. I actually don't like plain plates. I like gaudy designs on a plate. If I were the governor of MD I'd have the whole plate covered with the state flag.

I also don’t like how MD plates are now jist a long line of numbers and letters with no break or spacing.

And yes we have a great variety of members here and it keeps things interesting.

Quote: Another "You win" moment and exactly why I love the Yukon (and LX though it's not as menacing).

This jrkoff in a 6 series tried to run the red arrow light (I was in front and my light turned green and it would have made me have to wait bc he was running the light). I floored it when the light turned green as he was coming right at me; that game of chicken didn't last long. He swerved out of the way like there was a cliff haha. This just happened 10 minutes ago, I wish I had a dash cam bc it was pretty epic.

I am going with AJT on this one. It’s both perplexing and laughable that he gets more criticism for this than posters who allegedly travel upwards of 140 mph on public roads and post photos of their speedo clearly demonstrating that they drive at these speeds with one hand. I am reticent to admit that I frequently pass left lane bandits (speed limit or under in the leftmost lane) on the right and merge left in front of them using my right turn signal. Sometimes I even merge in front of them at a closer distance and rely on speed differential to avoid a collision. It’s certainly more egregious than driving 140 mph anywhere other than at the track.

Red light running is rampant here and has been that way since the defund the police initiative which is the stupidest policy decision in US history independent of political party.

Quote: Yeah I miss our old white plates. You can still get them with organizational plates. Have you ever seen the Maryland’s Eastern Shore plates? I had them for years and they got all rusted out and I went to bay plates.

There is also a company called Platemakers (might be Platemakerz) that you send your plates to and they repaint them. Obviously it’s illegal and I don’t want to be screwed with about them so I haven’t done it.
I have never seen those plates before, only the Chesapeake Bay ones and the Farming ones as well as the older red white and blue Star Spangled plates or whatever that one was called. I like to keep the looks of my car simple so I just like a simple black/white plate although I did like the California plates that my old Viper had on it when I bought it long time ago.

I’m currently riding in the 3rd row of a TX. I have plenty of leg room. On 2nd pic you can see how far back the 2nd row seat is in its track. My wife who’s 5’3 is sitting next to me, she has plenty of room. In comparison to the X7, the TX has more leg room. We have 2 rear vents in the 3rd row and couple USB C ports. In the X, you get the same 2 USB C ports but 3rd row has its own sunroof and HVAC controls. Overall the 3rd is comforty so far. We have a 30 min ride.

Because being in the wrong position is what causes crashes, going fast when no one is around doesn't do anything. It's also outright legal and has lesser crash rates in countries who are lucky enough to have drivers who follow positioning rules.

It also makes a huge difference going 140 in a car that is capable of that with no wind noise, one hand on the wheel with ease vs something that struggles to track at 90. Positioning errors however will always result in a crash

Lyric next to Tundra. Polar opposites. Which one will go the distance?🍿

Another pic from the 3rd row of the TX. 2nd row is now back in the furthest position in its track. Still have plenty of space.

As well as including yourself obviously!!! Thank you for the compliment. I'm just a talker and a writer to boot, hell I've been on here 15 years. This is almost like a journal. I was sorta bedridden for years with the back problems so this also helped me a lot to keep busy.... keep talking/writing. And the support for all of that has been great, too. So thanks again, guys.

Yes, when I joined I was in the LS430 forums (and read every.single.one) but haven't been there in yearrrrrrrrsssssss. There's nothing to discuss really unless there's a problem in that forum. Car chat in CL is the gold standard. The sense of community and friendliness just ain't out there on other forums like here. There are so many of you I could imagine hanging out with even if we disagree on lots of stuff.

Thank you as well. I mean it wasn't even a big deal, but oh I love playing Who's the Boss in traffic. I don't initiate it ever but oh I'll perk right up when needed. You should have seen the look on that guy's face, he swerved the other way like he was about to avoid driving off a cliff when 2 seconds earlier he thought he was gonna be slick and cut us all off.

And yeah I don't care what other people do but driving 155mph on public interstates is incredibly dangerous to me... versus me pulling a rank making some douche in a Bimmer look like the jrkoff he was. Some 160mph romp is something I'd want to do once or twice, that's it. But that's not my business. I don't have an insanely fast car like Striker but my V8 SL will hold 155 all damn day long I'm sure.

To be fair many of us have given Striker crap about the way he drives many, many, many, many times.

Driver vigilantism is just not smart. Driving 140 MPH is also not smart.

I think people really need to be there in situations to truly judge things... situations explained on forums by other members, just all of this... not just my specific situation I'm speaking of. I mean hell I've driven 145 down the interstate once which was crazy (in my old Acura) but it was completely safe with no traffic and a clear, well-lit road. But that was absolutely crazy thinking back.

But no I wouldn't do that again lol.

My counter argument is that is no country anywhere allows you to be wherever you want in bar road with no regard for yielding position or keeping out of the dedicated lanes.

There are countries with unlimited zones that by the numbers are less dangerous, speed isn't a problem when used where appropriate. Being in the wrong place is always wrong and WILL always cause a crash.

And that's a car that isn't suited for those speeds but to price my point if no one is there it doesn't matter. It's not that big of a deal if your car is able to do it easily
