I think you'll agree with me here that when it comes to Corvette owners of all people, they DAMN WELL want their V8s. With zero hybrid crap.
I think 1068hp from the V8 is enough, lol.
This other one might not even be released, since the Eray sales suck so bad.
Even my Porsche snob friend who hates on GM to the point of ridiculousness finally said a word about it. That's a big step for him, it really is. He got pissed at me because I said "I'm surprised Porsche would copy a Cadillac paint name" lol. Porsche offers a Carmine Red. Carmine Red is the killer red from old Caddies. I told him to take a chill pill lol.
This is one Corvette I would take over the Porsche. Sorry buddy. And I really like Porsche.

The ZR1 numbers are insane! I love the C8. If I could do it over again I would have kept my G37 and gotten a C8 as a weekend toy.
I’ve thought about how to make the numbers work. I would have to sell couple vehicles at least. Maybe a kidney.
I would track it.
ZERO turbo lag at any speed!! Turbos are always spinning even when you’re not on throttle. 🤯
Nobody is buying the Zora, it's like 2% of Vette sales. They didn't even sell 1500 of them last year.
Zr1 is the king bc it has a 1000hp+ pure ICE engine. That's what most Vette drivers care about, not a hybrid... not here.
Zora isn't out yet, some people just want the ultimate version of the car......I personally don't dislike how Chevy decided to add the E-axle since it's standalone

I've never had that much hp in my driveway when adding all cars combined. Lol
I'm at 1949 wheel HP across the actual cars.....the diesel helps by about 70 of those HP lol!
My gas turbo car is the greatest single contributor though at 710 when on E30 blend. I'm getting tired of it though and am thinking of replacing it with a similar engine car with better overall spec and less quality issues. I have no idea why but even though it's my newest and lowest miles it has the most issues, all stupid little things but it's still wearing on me. The speed is great but it's very jerky due to boost coming in/out so linear is the last thing I would call it....
A dig launch or rolling brake boosted run though is why it's still here. Actual comedy when you spin all 4 on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts if VSC is off!

i think an ev is calling your name. you could get a used model s plaid for 'doable'

I have zero interest in one, it has a far cheaper interior and is not fast enough for the cost. Way less hard tech as well and I can't modify it to this extent. Current car does a street 1/4 mile of 9.7 at 152mph, spins on 1-2 and 2-3 so 0-60 is only 2.2
They are also insanely boring and lifeless, no sound or anger to them at all. I rented a P100D for a few weeks to try it but it was just not in any way something I wanted. I felt zero connection to the car and it just felt like a disposable item to me
I'm only in my turbo car $40k all in as well so can't even argue value, plus it costs way more to fix the EV

Let's see how it does for the whole calendar year this year. I bet the Zora won't even come out. Corvette people recognize the ZR1 as king, even non-Corvette people do. Go look at Corvette forums, they're fun.

Chevy has always (well, for a long time) been competitive with Porsche models at the track. Porsches just are way fancier and more expensive. I'm not 100% sure what you're trying to say? I don't "dislike anything non-V8" I just vastly prefer them. If Porsches had V8s I'd be more into them. My friend who lives breathes and dies Porsche brokers them all the time, I've been in quite a few. They're fantastic but I want 8 cylinders. I rode around in this thing.......
.....so trust me I get it. It was awesome but it just didn't really do too much for me. I'd rather have a new LC500 convertible. Porsches don't sound great to me. V8s sound better. No Porsche sounds as good as that LC500 to me. But of course I respect the beasts.

Because F1 and Corvette drivers are so similar... they want all the same things!!!
My Porsche buddy is more impressed by insane outboard motors that rev high, than a huge torque monster like the Merc Inboard on our boat. Just preferences.

Oh I wouldn't buy a Porsche for my sports car, we know why. I don't even want a sports car I like GTs.
I would totally get a Porsche if I just wanted a crazy fast and connected driving experience. The flat 6 kills it for me though, ruins my mechanical enjoyment of the car.
I think Porsche is one of few who can make a sports car that doesn't have to be a V8.
Lighter and perfomance mastery. 🏆
See, while I live and die V8 your statement is absolutely true.
But my Yukon with a legit exhaust (debating doing it) would sound better than any Porsche to me. My SL has a V8 rumble that Porsche just didn't have. And yes I know said SL would be annihilated by any Porsche, I'm talking just daily driving.
It comes down to personal preference.

They just don't sound great. That's a big problem for me.
Porsche 911s with a sport exhaust can sound great plus there's a lot of aftermarket options if you prefer that route. Both my 911s had modified sports exhausts, and I was more than happy with the sound.
