Will all the trims and hevs/phevs go lithium ion and will they have a higher capacity?

No but real engines give you 80-90% of peak at 2500 or less at minimum, and I'm really used to 406 wheel TQ at 1200 now

Rav 4 PHEV peak torque is at like 2,700 RPM.

These are economy cars lol. It’s not terrible because it’s not a performance car. Power is more than adequate for the people who drive them.

The PHEV is the only one I would ever consider in the first place lol! It's surprising they didn't shove that driveline into absolutely everything they could

It's not unreasonable, every V8 they have ever made provides that % of torque at that rpm.

The 400+ off idle might be I guess lol!

I'm not an engine or car expert but who has 400 torque off idle other than a V12 or an F350 turbo deisel truck? Lolol

I'll probably embarass myself, I don't look at engine specs so I really have no idea these days what's out there.. Lol

Only massive NA engines, diesels need to spool or the power isn't there instantly

I can't throw a rock at my office or church parking lots without hitting a Rav4. They're more than adequate for normies who just want a transportation appliance. They probably don't even realize the engines are underpowered and buzzy because they've never known anything else. If they're under 40 they've likely been driving mostly 4 cylinders for most of their life. 4 cylinder Camries, 4 cylinder Accords, etc.

I imagine if Striker showed up at my office and started explaining to my staff why a V8 provides a much smoother and luxurious driving experience, their eyes would start to glaze over and they'd be looking at their watches. They DGAF.

Would I ever be satisfied with a Rav4? Hell no. I like speed and power. But none of us are normal in here. Except maybe @Margate330 He's pretty normal.

I have dealt with so many people like that, I find the best way to explain is a practical lesson lol! So far I have an over 80% conversion rate to the cult of V8

Great features like a panoramic roof that opens, digital rear view mirror, CarPlay, radar cruise, etc. It's all on the price point, in my opinion.

Just out of curiosity, how did you know it was 4500 RPM? The hybrid doesn't have a tach. Or are you just that good?
My PHEV had every option and it made my wife realize what her flagship LX 570 didn’t have. The LX600/700 still doesn’t have a pano roof. 🤦‍♂️

I’m trying to remember if any of our hybrids had a tach.

Did that to check a vibration on a customer car, hard to do if you don't know your RPM to repeat testing conditions
Do you walk around with a scanner in your pocket 🤣

I just dont get the strategy of shooting yourself in the foot when you spent millions in advertising to establish GR as real enthusiast cars.
When Toyota advertise it as their 2nd fastest car 0-60, it’s safe to fall into the GR category. But I see your point, GR is almost turning into an appearance package like TRD and F sport. At least at the moment the GR packs some kind of performance upgrade.
