It has to be intentional with how much dead space there is, there is no way it can't be if there is a literal foot of empty space.

They are indeed doing it in high end designs very often for Chinese primary market cars and it's bleeds backwards to us

Show me a high end RWD car with a longer front overhang, other than an Audi which are basically FWD.

Does it have to be a current vehicle? Lincoln Town Cars were well-known for their big front/rear overhangs.

We’re talking about modern cars not cars made 30+ years ago

Any supercar.

Any modern high end SUV.

It's just the trend these days to have the over emphasized front ends with insanely high belt lines etc.

Supercars are different, most are mid engined. What high end luxury SUVs have FWD looking front ends?

Well, the 2025 RWD/AWD Lincoln Navigator has a significant front overhang. Not the longest I've seen, but longer than most of its rivals.

I don't see how it's any different.....RWD or AWD with long front ends.

Another good one is the DB9, it has the wheel centered on the front

Literally every high end SUV has a long nose

Escalade
Navi
Wagoner
GLS
X7 is equal
GV80 is equal
DBX is equal
Bentayga
LX600
QX80
Urus (but knowing you you will call that FWD)
Every single pickup

The smashed face, pug look just ain't what people want anymore.

The ideal look on my book is the (FWD according to you) Bentley Flying Spur with its massive metal fenders that don't rely on cheap plastic bumpers to form the front/rear end forms.

When you first saw the new-generation Navigators at your local auto show several years ago, you remarked about how nice they were compared to their predecessors (which was true). You also remarked at their 100K price...which, I'll admit, is quite steep. Now, you say they are piece of junk? Come on.

friend of the family had a navigator. She would never get that brand ever again.

Equal is not the same as the huge front FWD overhang lol. Bentayga and Urus are Audis essentially and are basically FWD. None of those other vehicles have front heavy FWD proportions. Not talking about a long nose, talking about more bulk in front of the front wheels than behind the front wheels. Toyota specifically seems to love that look, but I don’t see that in any other carmakers cars.

Yes they all do, they have equal or more bulk in front of the wheel than behind them. Especially the trucks, they all have massive front ends.

You not liking this trend is the same way I dislike the rear door on BMWs and Mercedes that use the more down-market door design template that the Maybachs/Rolls do not use. This makes the rear of the car look more cheap and disconnected and it's the one thing I don't like about Bentley styling, it also hampers the rear door function. Unfortunately due to cheaper production costs and more market familiarity with the lower end door design this is going away just like your preferred pug nose look is also going away. My ideal is 50/50 split on each side of the wheel for the front since it avoids the door from looking compressed nor the face of the car looking like a pug, market trends however are going more like 70/30 with a lot of empty space up front on more and more cars. Even the 7 series has a 50/50 split now vs the last gen

Your "basically FWD" is absolutely hilarious btw lol! They send more power to the rear than your car and the Bentley has a REAR weight bias, guess the Panamera is FWD too in your world LOL!

“Basically FWD” has to do with how the engine is positioned over the front axle. Audis have nose heavy proportions like a FWD car for that reason.

Our eyes just see totally different things lol. None of those vehicles look anything like this:

Other than the Audis they all have the front wheels balanced in between the front end and the doors. I’m not talking about a 50/50 split. I don’t see any trend towards 70/30 it’s just a byproduct of the FWD design and trying to also have a high and strong front end. No FWD means no 70/30 split.
