Just, if someone is interested in an EV for their next vehicle, now would be a good time to buy lol.
Actually not, because all of the incentives have evaporated. My neighbor who I’m helping negotiate a replacement for her Ioniq 5 lease saw the lease payment jump $200 a month in one month, and zero inventory to choose from.
I mean, it is what it is. They had to use incentives to get people interested. As you know the market isn't exactly flooded with EVs. Americans don't want them by and large.
That $7500 tax credit was a joke. I'm paying some well off person so they can get $7500 off for some $100k EV?

A good time to buy was a year ago. You never get the best price on a product whose demand has significantly increased due to external factors. Now is a good time to buy a gas guzzler, as there are much more likely to be significant incentives to help them move while perceived operating costs are high.
Last I read new EV inventories had been piling up. If you're among the small fraction of new car buyers having decided to acquire a new EV it's probably a good time to find motivated sellers regardless of current pump prices.
Sam's $3.29.
According to EIA, average gas prices are up $1.25/gal since February. They also measure by region showing some higher/lower increases. Sam's gas here has risen a bit less over the period, about $1.05 IIRC. 17MPG at 10k miles per year = $12 higher fuel cost to drive my truck this week than during February.

I don't even have close to a 100k gas car.

EV incentives and inventories don't have anything to do with gas prices, so let's stay on topic.

I feel like wealthy people who buy Escalades don’t care either.
I hate these prices too but I don’t even look at the total and don’t really care. Annoying though, sure. But I won’t even notice the increase on the monthly Amex bill.

so if you don't care or notice, why do you 'hate' these prices?

Because it screws over people on required spending and that means they can't spend as much elsewhere, causes a cascade effect that affects everyone.
Less so these days when most economic activity is driven by the top 10% but it's still a factor. I've had reduced amount of work from that sector of customers every time basic living expenses have risen.
Fact is however that hey comprise less than 15% of my customers by revenue so they are easily compensated for by 2-4 high end customers. $2500 RR supercharger rebuild or 2-4 CV axle jobs, a belt that is about to throw and brake that are metal to meal......

100% why I'm driving this 4Xe. The credits were insane. $20K off Sticker. Plus this weird lease payment that makes no sense either. Cheapest car I've had in 25 years My SC was more expensive every month in 2006
I still haven't gotten gas since Apr 9th. Looks like the prices are the same.
Weather warmed up and people around here are driving like there's no issue with price.
I'm over here looking at trips if I can do them on EV only.

We don't pay for tax credits...tax credits just reduce tax liability, doesn't cost taxpayers anything.
This is showing that Americans do want them with the right environment. Gas prices get to a certain point...they want them.

I think you'll find those pileups are bought out now.
