It's actually the owner of the vehicle's "tax dollars" not anyone else's. It's not really different than most billionaires that pay very little taxes. I guess it's only bad when someone is reducing their tax burden when it involves something you have an issue with, like anything EV. If you haven't already heard of this, look up "Buy, Borrow, Die" and tell me how you feel about it.

And gas prices have barely budged in my area since last week. Still glad my truck's tank is still 90% full from the end of Feb when I needed to fill it up.

I think you'll find those pileups are bought out now.
So a tax that would otherwise be collected but is now able to be exempted passes the revenue collection burden where?

Even if more money is simply printed to cover vs actually taxing everyone else more that inflationary pressure hits those who don't have the credit harder on a relative scale.

How about we close loopholes that allow tons and tons of wealthy people not to pay taxes? Thats a much bigger issue than an EV tax credit.

Oh for god's sake, here we go with the standard "I hate rich people" bullshit. Billionaires have paid more taxes than everyone on these forums combined probably times 500 at least. They create thousands and thousands and thousands of jobs to do you know what? Create high earning tax payers.... and fruitful jobs for people.

The $7500 is absolutely paid for by tax payers ultimately, you're welcome. It's funded by the government which means.... tax payers. It's a government expenditure. Look it up. Yes you pay less taxes but ultimately it's because of taxpayers that credit existed. Why do you think it was gutted immediately?

Who said I have an issue with EVs? I don't really like them but I don't give **** what others drive. Don't be salty because EVs didn't catch on mainstream in the US and have failed miserably.

My tank average is 10.9 on the LX, IDGAF paying whatever to fuel it. But yes, prices are very annoyingly high.

And your tax complaint about capital gains/rich people are poo poo faces let me ask you.... do you get your paychecks and wish more money were taken out? Do you pay one penny more than legally possible every April? I seriously doubt it. Who doesn't pay as little as possible, are you kidding me??? As long as the strategy is legal I'll use tax avoidance (which is legal, tax evasion isn't).

Feel free to go donate more of your hard earned money to the IRS.

It makes no sense that you yourself use said loopholes but want them gutted? Wealthy people still pay a shitload in taxes. I didn't even ask the accountant what we were gonna owe, but it turns out only $500. Why would I not use him/FAs to make that payment as low as possible?

LOL, that's a bunch of nonsense. First, I never said I hate billionaires. I just said they use loopholes, just like us normal folk. That tax credit was no different.

I'm sorry that puts you in a tizzy.

Of course I use the techniques I can use to reduce my taxes. Doesn’t mean I think it’s fair. I have said many times I bet I pay less than taxes than my office admin when I make over 5 times as much as her. Is that fair? No.

If I had to pay way more in taxes I would be just fine. So will the billionaires. Nobody is moving out of the country you know why? Because they would still pay much higher taxes than they would here even if we raised their taxes.

The idea of complaining about a tax credit to encourage people to buy less polluting EVs while being okay with billionaires paying $700 in taxes, and corporations posting huge profits paying NO federal tax is just insane to me.

Lol so what's the problem? No tizzy.

Nobody's problems are because someone else is a billionaire.

I just hate it when people automatically hate the rich, not saying you but most of the time it's just pure envy. It is one of the seven deadly sins after all.

People who think we should raise taxes on wealthy people don’t hate wealthy people. I’m advocating for raising my own taxes…I don’t hate myself.

I also have zero sense of envy for anybody.
