Its no more hilarious than its ever been. Its never been comparable to an Escalade or RR. Its always sold to a niche buyer who wants the uniqueness of an LC/LX.
Yes it is, because back then the competition wasn't nearly as good and the 200/LX570 series was a great truck. LX was a solid choice a decade ago, for example. Now it's just outclassed in every way. No power running boards for $134k??? This recalled V6 engine and wow, now a fun hybrid ..... yawn.
And finally you get it, I have been saying the bolded for years. They never sold in huge numbers for exactly those reasons, but they were competitive years ago.

Everything costs 15-20% more, or have you not noticed over these last few years? I paid 3k more for an HVAC, 25% more than the downstairs one I replaced prior to 2021.
I'm going to see if I can find out why it increased, I wonder if they'll tell me.
I wouldn't be shocked if they did raise my rates, but I think it's just risen with the COL.
dumb insurance question... if someone uses your mountaineer as their loaner, whose insurance does it come under if they have an accident?
Theirs first, mine second if they lied to me, hopefully I never find out....I generally only offer it to people who are good customers/sane drivers. It's not being offered to a new customer unless I have a very strong feeling it would be okay, aka someone like yourself.
I'm not giving to a Kyle with an infinity who drove past my shop and decided to leave his "sick whip" for repairing the litany of issue it has.
A friend was just over and showed me his new GX550. I loved it! They are super happy with it. They traded in their GX460 for it.
Pardon the very poor pic.
was she at church this past Sunday? Lol. I saw other colors before and was neutral but this same one I saw on Sunday looked great IMO. Way better than tx and lc.
Speaking of, insurance finally got to me however I think it's just because of the COL and not necessarily my claims. Everyone on here is reporting higher rates.
It's now $4100 a year for full coverage on all cars including the GMC. @SW17LS Yes they finally got to us but I honestly don't think it was the clams....
The main claim was the $10,000 boat one, and it renewed and only went up like $25.
Today I saw lots of cool cars. LS430 one behind the other, naturally the 3rd brake light was out... they are notorious for this. Check yours if you have one. I know I'm prejudiced but these cars still look plenty bossy and flagshippy.
1997 SL500 in decent condition. We chatted, he loves his. His also had xenon lights and not the silly halogens with the wipers, and xenon lights were a pretty big deal in 1997.
LX600, lol. This just looks dreadful from behind.
There is hideous plastic cladding that look like faux exhausts, but they're not. Look how clean (and expensive looking) the old one was from behind. WTF was Lexus thinking. 600 rear end isn't only ugly it makes the whole truck look cheap.
The fact that they want to put the LX600 up against RRs and even Escalades (or Denalis for that matter) is hilarious.
The silver lining is at least the person is driving in the left lane when the right lane is wide open lol. Embarrassingly, when I drive in Germany and I see someone cruising in the left lane, I know it’s a US American. Fortunately, it hasn’t happened often.
