Lane changing hesitation is still a thing. Also, not sure why FSD is so signal happy. lol
I wish there was a way to stop it from constantly changing lanes without having to take it out of Hurry or Mad Max mode. There should be a setting to limit lane changes. Right now I just turn the signal off
Lol I haven't seen that yet 🤣. Holy crap, imagine if you were in the back seat....
The thing that was a little scary is it was one of these side roads that runs parallel to a major highway with a high jersey wall on one side and a curb on the other so there is no way to turn around once you get on.
Here is something funny, I was on the phone not paying attention but had two hands on the wheel and I must have ignored the warnings to basically put pressure on the wheel so it knew I had my hands on and it booted me off for the rest of the drive.

So hold on... were you using Autopilot or FSD? That's an AP warning. Completely different how they operate. AP will plow through a Stop sign or Red light. A lot of people mistake the two

All FSD. I don’t use AP anymore. What’s weird is it says I can use hands off driving but then it gives me warnings to put my hands on the wheel sometimes. My hands were actually on the wheel and the gauge screen turned red and said it was going to pull over if I didn’t take over.

Also, see the warning, it says FSD.
Yeah I see the complete message. FSD has not asked me once to touch the steering wheel even once, so there must have been something that triggered for you to hold the steering wheel
Also, I’ve done a fair amount of traffic circles and it has handled them perfectly and used the turn signals perfectly each time.
You mentioned you were on your phone not paying attention. That would trigger for you to grab the steering wheel, and if you ignored that, it would disable FSD for that driving session

Yeah but I was hands free talking and I was resting both hands on the bottom of the yoke looking straight ahead. It sometimes asks me to put my hands on the wheel and I give a quick tug but this time I had my hands resting there and maybe it didn’t feel my hands there. That’s the weird thing.

fsd is a mode of autopilot. i see you read the full screen message after your post.

14.2.1 is a lot more ‘forgiving’ of looking at things including the phone.

I’ve seen this before. Last year I got kicked out of FSD after so many warnings. I was looking at my phone each time. Idk if it still works but I believe to get FSD back I ended the trip on the screen and restarted it and I want to say it gave me the option again. I think!! Could be wrong.
And I do remember being reminded to touch the wheel during FSD.

Guilty!! First time behind the wheel of a Tesla I was approaching a red light and I had AP engaged and it wasn’t checking up and a car was making a left turn at the intersection. I was actually recording it with my phone and I remember saying WTF look at this before jamming on the brakes to stop at the light. I called my friend and he informed me I wasn’t using FSD. Also during the same drive right before the red light incident, I wasn’t aware of the sound it makes when it wants you to take over and the car was veering towards the curb but I thought the car was driving itself. Had to take over to avoid that. Noobie!!

It asked me every 10 minutes, like clockwork, when I used it driving down to FL a couple months ago.
Hasn't asked me even once. It will prompt me to keep my eyes on the road if I look at my phone for to long
Timely update on this. I drove home from Chicago this morning and finally tried v14 FSD. It did not ask me once to put my hands on the wheel for over 20 minutes. It also got me thinking that maybe the fact that I was wearing polarized sunglasses when I was getting the warning might have had something to do with it in the past.
I'm still disappointed with it not reading speed limit signs correctly, if at all. It started fine showing 55, but then I passed a 60mph sign and it didn't change. Same for the next one, but it then showed 10mph after passing a sign that said "JCT 110". This shouldn't be like this and thankfully it didn't reduce my speed to match that. Also, I found myself using Mad Max mode. Once the speed limit finally was showing correctly, Hurry mode would only go 5mph over. Mad Max mode followed the speed of traffic, which was a little over 80. It also didn't seem to camp in the left lane like the old Hurry mode did last year.
