They need superchargers in town, destination chargers are useless when it isn’t close to where you are staying. The smart thing to do would be charge up to 80% right outside of ocean city for the week but that could take 15-20 minutes and sometimes when you finally get there you just want to get there and not stop for that long. I’m not sure why the superchargers were so slow on the way back but they were charging at around 85kw.
Exactly. I’m told there are some superchargers in West OC right across the Rt 50 bridge now but I haven’t seen them. Luckily the place we usually rent has a city Level 2 charger in a town parking lot across coastal highway we could leave it at overnight to charge and just walk across the road.
Were they 150 kW chargers? Those share with the charger next to them and will cut in half.
All the v3 chargers are pretty much gone around where I live replaced with v4. Tesla fast chargers are so numerous in California they probably outnumber gas stations
Thats the weird thing, they were 250kw chargers. I’m not sure why they were so slow charging and I never park next to another car when charging. I moved to another one to see if it was better and it was the same so I left. The one closer to home was normal.

There are two of them, one at the Wawa and the other at the Royal Farms, about 10 chargers each. When arriving before the bridge just look to the right in those gas stations and you will see them, they are right next to the highway.

With 250 kW they don't share, they must have been limiting power to all chargers for some reason.
The longest I've spent at a Tesla charger traveling to SoCal last year was 20 minutes. By the time I went to the bathroom, came back and got a quick snack it was time to get going

I always come in the Rt 90 bridge because we stay up on 100th St. But at least they are there and we could pop by for 20 minutes and get some charge. We go over there to eat at the Sunset Grille and the Shark...

Ha we tried to eat at the Sunset Grille Friday night but they weren't serving food after 9:30 so we had to go to Harborside Bar & Grille. I was looking forward to Sunset Grille, maybe next time.
We spend a week in Ocean City every summer and that’s one of our big issues with getting an EV, traveling with it there.
you seem to go everywhere there’s no or lousy charging, lol.

ocean city is very densely populated, and also very old. getting megawatts of power for a supercharger there might be an issue, plus there might not be real estate available, or the cost is likely so astronomical it’s not worth it. plus, it’s NJ so ******taxes*******.
no idea why supercharger you tried was slow.

so we go to st. simon’s island georgia, about 3 hours away, a very nice place, but no dc fast charging that i know of. so we do exactly what you said… stop in brunswick before going onto the island. charge up (12-15 minutes), have fun on the island. do same when leaving, drive home. no problem at all.
^^ is that a new post? We have a blackout in San Fran about 6 months ago that lasted 3 days in some parts of the city. I think Waymos were causing havoc too with not understanding the blinking red light system of an intersection. I would be surprised if they didn't fix this issue.
