wow, hadn't heard of hybrid only parking spots... how lame. guessing this was done in the past for prius virtue-signaling. still, with every camry now a hybrid, and so many other models now hybrids, i don't think that will last.
You see it around here in parking garages etc, they say "Hybrid, EV or Low Emission vehicles" etc. Nothing that can be enforced...
i think chdm would be an abbreviation, not an acronym?
acronyms are abbreviations using first letters that spell a pronounceable word (eg., NASA). saw this: "While all acronyms are abbreviations, not all abbreviations are acronyms" - Dictionary.com
I think you're right on that. I still don't know what chdm actually stands for. I just guessed Chinese Domestic Market.

very common in my area maybe 10-15 years ago, until every other car became a hybrid in California. Not sure what qualifies as "low emissions vehicle" so anyone parked there. Now, these have completely disappeared and I only see EV online parking. At one of the largest Westfield malls in my area, each parking garage level has a row of EV only parking spaces that dont even have chargers attached to them, near the elevators.
There are actually some Model Y Performances in inventory for immediate delivery near me now.
Might have just been good timing when you checked, I've yet to see one in inventory whenever I've looked. Took at look at a couple of inventory tracker sites and it looks like there are only 3 new units in inventory nationwide. 1 demo in Ohio and 2 in Georgia. Tesla.com doesn't show any available. New Y performance orders are showing May to June delivery (I used my own ZIP and Charleston to check, your actual ZIP may have different results). I think these are still in quite short supply. Even Austin shows May to June as well.
Very interesting video - prototype of a 12kg 1,000 electric motor that fits inside the wheel without adding unsprung mass. The forces at work within the wheel are insane, and the car has to deal with things like the high RPM of the motor in a wheel pointing one way while the car itself travels in another.

Maybe so. They were in Savannah, Georgia and both are gone now. I saw a white one today with black interior at Home Depot and I really like the way it looked.

East coast charging network still needs to improve. Went to Ocean City, MD this weekend and took the Tesla. I planned everything out and they only have a couple destination chargers in town, none of which were close to me but they have a couple places that had Tesla superchargers not too far out of town.
It’s about 120 miles from my house so I stopped on the way down and supercharged for about 10 minutes to charge up the battery for the weekend to put me back at about 180 mile of range for the weekend.
I left to go home today with maybe enough to get home but I also need my car for the day and I wanted to charge up on the way home. I stopped at the supercharger and for whatever reason it wasn’t fast charging. Just to get me home with 35% charge left it was going to take 30 minutes. I thought something was wrong with the supercharger so I switched to another and it was the same. No way I’m waiting 30 minutes. I ended up going to a different supercharger on the way home about 45 minutes from my house and it was much better. 12 minutes and I was on my way.
We are getting there but we are not there yet. Not sure why the one near ocean city was so slow, there were about 10 chargers and only two cars there. Had I really been in a bind I would have been pissed to wait 30 minutes.
They need superchargers in town, destination chargers are useless when it isn’t close to where you are staying. The smart thing to do would be charge up to 80% right outside of ocean city for the week but that could take 15-20 minutes and sometimes when you finally get there you just want to get there and not stop for that long. I’m not sure why the superchargers were so slow on the way back but they were charging at around 85kw.

Were they 150 kW chargers? Those share with the charger next to them and will cut in half.
All the v3 chargers are pretty much gone around where I live replaced with v4. Tesla fast chargers are so numerous in California they probably outnumber gas stations
