The battery reduced power right before the finish line on their fastest lap😲
EV'S are definitely not the best choice for the track, although the Ioniq 5N does a great job here, but that car is more track focused than the Model 3 Performance
Swapped the tires on the R1S yesterday and I regret waiting as long as I did. Granted, some of that was because of a continuing stock out of the tires I wanted (Toyo Open Country III EV) but part of it was still having between 5/32 and 6/32 left on the stock Pirellis. That being said, I’ll never be getting Pirellis again. These have been droning for the last ~10K miles and only had 33K miles on them when I swapped them out, but I didn’t realize how bad it was until I get these tires put on.
I ended up with the Goodyear Wrangler ElectricDrive ATs and even though they’re more AS than AT, I needed the extra range for how cold it has been and how long my weekly drive is. So far it’s like having a new car. Super quiet, smooth, and seem to be slightly more efficient. It’s hard to judge since the cold this winter really sapped my efficiency and it’s relatively warm right now. Next week will be either really rainy or really snowy so I’m looking forward to seeing how they hold up in more adverse condition.

I wouldn't let that turn you off of Pirelli as a brand. I have run Pirellis on my luxury sedans for years and they have been amazing, don't get loud as they age etc. Every tire manufacturer has good models and bad models.
I'm generally a Michelin person, but wanted to keep at least a little AT capabilities with this set. The defender's have good reps for a road tire, but wasn't quite what I was looking for. I had originally considered the KO3s but it would've been a ~10% efficiency hit and I regularly do a 1 way 120 mile commute now. Pirelli also has introduced a new SKU in their XTMs but it hasn't been out long enough to see if it has the same droning issue as the initial scorpions
