Sorry, about 16 miles a day

well I happened to drive the best part of 500 miles today, but that’s not the point. The point is the average American doesn’t, and the driving that they do, on average, could be supported for the most part by a level 1 charger.

Yes. I live outside of the city limits which sometimes mean multiple trips back and forth into town. For example taking our trash out is putting it in a burn barrel or taking it to the trash dump.

my brief horrible experiences with 120v when i first got the car showed it charged about 1% an hour. so 10% overnight would get me 25miles range. as you say better than nothing but a really bad option unless one has an extremely limited usage.

in your ev? your lightning would take a month to recharge on 120v

Yep. We survived the first 2 months on Level 1 15A charging. We just plugged it in every day and it worked out fine. Now that we have Level 2 48A charging capabilities, we only plug in when it gets down around 30%, unless we're planning on taking a trip the next day.

Wow, you live dangerously. JK . I usually charge when I get down to 40 percent. When I drove gas cars, quarter tank was "empty" in my mind

My wife is in the Prius today. She will drive around 60ish miles today. She left the house with it showing 34 miles to empty. I’ll throw some gas in it tomorrow or so. 🎲🎲

When I used to drive gas cars, I would wait until the light came on and then some. I hated stopping at stations. Didn't have the time, didn't want to go out of my way, didn't want to deal with panhandlers asking to wash my windshield.

But for charging, I always charge as much as possible. Range anxiety is real.

There was a Costco on my way to work that I would stop at in the morning, there was usually no line, 5 minutes and I was filled up. No pan handlers to deal with

I've been driving EV's long enough where range anxiety no longer exists. I once had only 38 percent SoC on our Model Y, I drove first to San Ramon (from San Jose) to pay condolences to friends who's relative passed away, then to Berkley. On the way back home, made a 10 minute stop in Oakland and got home with around 14 percent SoC. Got home, plugged in, and the car was ready to take me to work in the morning

My problem is I live in an apartment complex so charging is first come first served. I don't always have guaranteed charging. And the free charging that came with my Etron at EA is next to worthless because of the broken machines or long lines.

I feel for you on both ends. That's why I now have two Tesla's, I can charge at home and don't have any issues charging while traveling

Too much thought is put into this 😄

I just plug in my car every day regardless of how much is left. I charge to 80%.

Well, we have three EV's, so can't plug in every night unless it happens to be open that night
