i'd be surprised if a model y didn't have way more room than a rav4.
According to Truecar, Model Y has up to 30.2 ft cargo space with seats in place and up to 76 ft with second row seats folded while the RAV4 has 37.6 ft with seats in place and up to a maximum of 76 ft with second row folded. Model Y has more legroom and second row legroom with 41.8 ft in the front row vs 41 ft for the RAV4, in the rear Model Y has 40.5 ft legroom in the rear while RAV4 has 37.8 ft
Being too small is a different issue, when I run into that problem I take the Sienna. I have driven the RAV4 hybrid (rental in San Antonio) and it's nice like all Toyota's, drives nice and is quiet, but if I'm being honest, I like EV's better where you have full range of the torque they offer..until the battery runs out
Prime has 83hp more than the regular hybrid. Have both at home and it’s very noticeable difference. Like going from a standard Tesla to dual motor/performance. The throttle response in the Prime is instant because like EVs it’s battery assisted and also with the ECVT there’s no downshifting gears. It’s not as quiet as an EV because well it has an engine Running the speeds we were today I was still averaging over 33mpg. It was 33.x I forgot the next number. Won’t get a true mpg when I refuel because I’ve been running in EV mode around town and I didn’t look at the current miles in HV mode before I switched over to EV mode.

I was comparing it to the Model 3 I saw on highway. I’ve rented two of them and it was a tight fit for my family. I recently rode in the backseat of a Model Y and the space was efficient for my wife and me. It was an Uber so they had the passenger front seat all the way forward in its track.

I could tell the Y had little more legroom after riding in the backseat of one recently. If I’m not mistaken the Rav has more interior space than the Lexus RX which surprised me because the NX is the Rav’s cousin and RX is supposed to be next step up. As for cargo space, I’ve hauled a 7500 predator generator in the box plus groceries in the trunk of the Rav with the rear seats upright in place. All in all both good vehicles.

I believe you, you don't have to try and convince me. In my current position, hybrid or phev doesn't make sense. I have a charger at home, the Y for travelling, and the Sienna as backup. If I had to rely solely on the Polestar or Ioniq, then maybe a hybrid or phev would be needed. In fact the only hybrid I would consider would be the Sienna or Pacifica

Add in the fact the price of gas your way I don’t blame you going EV. I filled up today for $2.42/gallon.
You have to go Sienna. You can’t abandon Toyota all together lol. Speaking of, I saw 2-3 B4Zs today. Although I’m not a huge fan of them, I saw a black one and it made the standard black fender flares not look out of place. I think the range and charging speed on them is terrible last I checked.
All in all, the model S is sexy!! Honestly that’s the first time I’ve seen an EV of any kind run those kinds of speed on highway for that extended distance. My friend and I joke all the time that women drive faster than men and this model S was driven by a woman. Looked like a small woman at that. She made people get the heck out of the way.

The Chevron near my house is $4.89 regular cash and $4.99 credit. Totally insane.
My daughter is one of those aggressive drivers. She drives way too fast, gets frustrated when someone drives slow and tailgates. I'm constantly warning her to ease up, take it easy and stop tailgating. She also happens to be short and feisty
When I travel in any of my EV'S, I drive at a constant speed between 75 and 80 mph. I've hit over a 100 passing trucks or slower cars. Last night we were invited to a friend's house who lives almost 60 miles from our house in the central valley, winding highway through the hills, lots of uphill inclines. About a little over an hour drive, I maintained 80 mph most of the drive. Basically I drive my EV'S the same way I would drive a gas car.
I've basically adopted EV'S, and really have no desire to go back. The exception would be a weekend car, but that is not in the cards for awhile
i'm guessing your L2 charging at work is always available when you're there?
either way, nice that you have that, but i would not own an ev if i didn't have a home charger. so nice not to have to think about it when i'm out.
Yeah, when I go into the office, I'm usually the first one there, so I get my pick of chargers. A good situation that works for me and a l2 at home would rarely help. And I do have access to an unused dryer nema 14-30 right off my garage that I can use with my mobile charger, but I haven't had to do it. I still like the ICE fueling model better. I'd much rather swing in a station that I already drive by every day and fill up in 5 minutes once every 10 to 14 days and just forget about it. And be able to do that just about anywhere, anytime.

Living in SC, you don't have the extreme weather like us. I don't miss at all getting out in -20 degree weather and fumbling with the pump.

Haha we don't have extreme weather here, and I don't miss going to gas stations, even a little. About every four or five months I fill up our Sienna, and I find it inconvenient
Mandatory full service in NJ so it's nice and easy for me when I have to drive the Ody .
Re: charging at home. I like knowing that I'll get the charge level I want each day when I get back. The 5 seconds it takes me plug it in is worth it over the 5 min fill ups every week of I was driving ICE full time

C’mon can’t be that inconvenient going to gas station to stop for your morning coffee, after work 44oz thirst buster and lamp warm hot dog 🌭. By the time you walk out the gas station, your tank would have been full!!⛽️🤣🤣

I’m not trolling🤥
Oh I still go to a gas station, except it's for a carwash 🤣 Hell no, don't touch those gas station hot dogs. Maybe grab a cold brew coffee...
I like better getting home, pulling in my backyard, plugging in and the next morning she's full

80% full😉. My friend said he’s been trying something different. He’s been charging to 65% as of late. Also yesterday he was addressing the discoloration of his window trim. He said he has to touch it up every couple months. I saw the same discoloration on the window trim on the Model S I saw on the highway yesterday.
Stay away from those lamp light hot dogs, they will put you on the 💩’er.

80 percent gets me a whole week. All I need is 30 percent charge, I can get anywhere in the Bay Area if I have to leave in an emergency. A couple of weeks back my son was visiting from Berkeley, he took the car and bought it back with 40 percent SoC. It was late, and I had to drop him back, it's about an hour drive. I had enough charge to go to a city east of Berkeley (a friend had passed away, we were giving condolences) drop him off, and half way home it asked me to charge for 10 minutes. Got home with 14 percent, plugged in to my home charger.
The discoloration is caused by residual soap stuck in the trim from those automated car washes. Have him just get a lint less cloth, some interior spray, easily cleaned

Sounds like it's due to the harsh chemicals that automatic car washes use. Laziness has its price!
