I’m 41 years old and have never had any discernible loss in driving range because of winter, lol. Ever. Been driving since 1997.
Well, I can say I'm older than you, driven longer than you (more than 30 years) and I have the numbers I posted above prove it. So I'm pulling rank here

I just finished up a tank of gas 100% city driving at 14.2 MPG in my LX570. It’s rated for 12. Can’t agree. It’s been freezing here, all due respect to your rank that article is just a load of ****. 20%???? That’s just not true. If driving a car in winter makes it 20% less efficient what about in the summer? Does it lose 90% because of the air conditioning?

We're drifting off topic, so I'll stop there.
It’s not the 1970s anymore maybe? Perhaps? Fuel injection has been a thing for 40 years.
I don’t believe anything in that article. 20% loss in MPG in cold weather? Never in my life. I’ve never noticed cold weather even ever affecting my gasoline range and I’ve been driving for 26 years. Instantly the credibility goes out the window. Plus it’s from the government, that article is complete BS.
An ICE car is going to heat up regardless and do all of those things you mention. The heat is just a blower blowing heat “off of the engine” like I said. It doesn’t cost any mpg, unlike a/c….and A/C is NOT EVEN CLOSE to a 20% loss either. It’s minimal.
I have ALWAYS experienced cold weather impacting my gasoline range. It absolutely does. 20% sounds about right.
Are you calling me a liar then? Never in my life noticed a difference.
Just because you may not have noticed something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. You also don't live in a cold area...its 50 degrees where you live right now and the low is 35. Thats not cold.

No of course not. I wasn't referring to the article, but the pic I posted of my MPG's down due to colder weather. I was just saying I don't think we are going to convince each other one way or another
