Honest local Atlanta Shops???

When Torrey "first" pulled the engine apart, he was suppose to replace the spun bearing with new ones. (2 rods) He put used bearings in their place. The shinny ones are the one that came with the engine, from Titan. Then "Ball" did the rebuild, when it was pulled again. Michelle does have a receipt from Zen, that says she bought NEW bearings.
Why are there 2 different bearings? Shouldn't they all match? I feel that Torrey isn't ignorant. He is going along with the program.
Thank you for posting the picture on Photo Bucket, Gerrb. A picture says a thousand words. This picture is proof that Zen Motors LLC, (Dan Kang) plot, to help make sure that my wife's car would continue to fail, so that they would continue to make money from us. That is STEALING.
Dan Kang will not even come to this forum anymore, because of his actions.

As I posted on Supraforums:
This is one more nail in the coffin for Dan. Yes, the photos says it all and confirms what I originally did not want to believe when all of this started for Dan and Zen Motors. DAN IS A LIAR AND A CROOK. Yes, I said it, and again, I thought I never would have to. The photos tell all. The parts taken out tell all. Yes, I have a receipt for NEW BEARINGS and two old ones were put in.
Torrey is all a part of it, and I never wanted to believe that he would ever stoop to that level. Torrey is too proud to admit fault in anything, I guess, which is a bad place to be. When they both looked me in the face and told me that I never replaced my rings, I knew they were in it together, because I KNOW I paid cash for the rings, but I was alone with Dan when I handed the cash over. Perhaps Dan kept that information from Torrey about the rings, but Torrey had to have known about putting used bearings into my car, since he put them in.
Torrey also wired my MAP wrong. I couldn't figure out why he had taken my MAP ECU out during the second build. There was nothing wrong with it, but wiring a 1st gen MAP with the wiring diagram of a 2nd gen MAP didn't work out. The car was obviously giving off a code or something, because he ended up soldering some points on the back of my check engine light or something. I'm not sure if he was trying to make it stop or what, but I couldn't figure out why he was soldering points when there had been nothing wrong with my check engine light. After he messed with it, my light stayed on, and I couldn't figure out how to make it stop. Of course, he didn't want to admit fault to that, or that anything was wrong, so he didn't even try to sort it out. I had never asked him to touch it to begin with. Sam Tiger had to take the time to clean up that problem, siting that it was due to the MAP being wired wrong that the light was on in the first place.
It has become obvious that the money from all of the parts I paid for went into funding Dan's car or whatever bills he had. It never went to my car.
Dan actually had the audacity to say when I confronted him about driving my car and boosting in it, that he had no idea where my boost controller was, or what kind it was, or how to operate it. He was stammering, backpedalling, trying to make up excuses to cover up what I already know in my heart that happened to my car. A mouthful of lies is all I got. ANYONE who has ever been in a boosted car, owned a boosted car, or had a boost controller, knows what they are, and knows the basic operations of them. I couldn't believe he told me that, as if I'm so dumb to believe him. That was what really sent me away from his shop confirming he was a liar.

On another note, my car is doing great coming out of Sam Tiger's shop. I feel good that he even considered working on my car, since he's very particular about what cars he works on. He will only take cars that he can build from. Mine was a good project for him, since he can rebuild the motor and he would know exactly what was wrong with it and fix it the right way. I've been back for another inspection after 500 miles, and everything is clean and tight; no leaks, drips, or problems. He was very conscious to take photos of everything and send them to me as he worked. He even gave me all of the old parts. I have finally found someone I can trust.

I would like to know, how in the world would a performance shop owner, not know what a Greddy Profec B. looks like, when it is right in front of you? Or how it works.
I guess that must be a rare, complex BC.

What do you expect from someone that doesn't know what a boost controller is.
Here is a response from Dan Kang on the BBB complaint. This is his own words. Many of you have already seen the proof. I noticed he was trying respond to this thread the other day, but didn't hit the post icon. I figured I would do him a favor, and post his BBB, public response, here, for him. Since this is a public forum. Anyone who wishes to read the full complaint, can do so on this link. https://atlanta.app.bbb.org/complain...95552/c/f43w2v

first and foremost, when Solomon's Supra was brought to the shop, it was going to be a shop sponsored project. As a shop sponsored project, in order to receive discounts on pricing, your car gets worked on when the shop has time. This is the only way to make a sponsorship cost effective with a small business.
The time frame in which Solomon wanted his car completed by was never discussed as it was told to him before dropping his car off that it would be at least 4-6 months before it would get started. Once the process started, Solomon because very impatient as 6 months had already passed. We tried to work in portions of the job, but at a certain point, Solomon's expectations in timeliness were becoming very apparent. We expressed to him on multiple occasions, that sponsored cars get worked on when we have the available time, they are not the priority.
In regards to his engine, it was not built in house, he took it to a machine and had them build the head, block, oil pans, etc and it was assembled by them as well. Upon arriving to Zen Motors, the engine was quickly inspected and found to have clear silicone used as sealant which was the wrong sealant to be used. Solomon gave us permission to remove the oil pans and inspect the rest of the work performed by the machine shop. During the inspection the block was found to be missing oil pressure o-rings which are crucial the survival of the engine. We also found some miscellaneous missing gaskets which we replaced. This work was charged to the customer and was paid for.
In regards Solomon's transmission, first, Solomon purchased a used transmission that he knew to be damaged and not usable in its current condition. When it was dropped off to Zen Motors, we asked if he knew what was wrong with the transmission and he had absolutely no idea, just that it was broken. His response was tear it apart and fix it. After some time had passed, when we found some time to work on it, we disassembled the case and started to disassemble the rest of the transmission. During the dis-assembly process, we found components that were seized to the input shaft and our press could not remove them. We tried heating the seized components (typical procedure for this type of work) and they still could not be removed. "This is the heat and beat technique" Solomon is referencing. The components that Solomon claims were damaged were going to be replaced upon reassembly with the new Transmission Rebuild Kit.

Did you bring them a broke transmission and told Dan to fix it?
Did you knowingly take it to them?
Did you know the original shop who built the block, etc, use the wrong silicone?
Was this going to be a sponsor car, to show the work that Zen Motors does?
Did you or seen anyone else have work completed there in a timely manner, if so, why did you take it to them in the first place?
I have some questions now, that Dan has said these things. Not saying that what he said is a lie, but this could bring about more questions to be answered. I am curious now......

Answer
The V160 needed syncros. 1st and 2nd.
The V160 was from my car.
Dan and Torrey assured me the job could be done there. I told them I could send it out of state, but would like to keep it local. Dan had the choice right then to say they can't do the job.
Did you knowingly take it to them?
Do I need to answer that?????

Answer
My engine was taking too long. So I had Jeremy go get it. I then PAID Zen Motors LLC to recheck it. They used window silicone instead of auto hi temp.
Was this going to be a sponsor car, to show the work that Zen Motors does? It was mentioned, but never reflected in pricing on anything. I paid full price for substandard work.

Answer
Zen did minor work on my wife's Supra. And it was in a timely manor. So I sent my car in. Then my wife's car went down, while Zen Motors was in possession. And things started down hill from there.

I hope this clarifies some things. My car spent 1 year at Zen Motors LLC. I took it out in parts. Not a finished product.

One more question, did they give you a time frame for the car to be complete or was it pay as you go outside the possibility of it all being sponsored? ?
I am sure I wasnt the only one trying to figure out why things went south when it sounds like the work on yours wife supra was satisfactory. I am also sure I will come up with more questions. If only Dan will post up his side on this particular thread.

Dan will not post on this subject because he is too shamed, because of this and MANY other members, (both CL and SF) that he has wronged. And he has more customers that are at his mercy. There is a 300Z that has been there for a year. There is another Lexus that has been there over 2 years.
