I would support our sponsors, but 60 dollars extra is kinda too much..
Dang i guess the price of regulators went up 30 bucks
I hear you... it's tough. Plus, being in Cali also means you gotta pay shipping AND tax, whereas out of state dealers (like the linked one) don't have to charge tax...just shipping. That can add up on expensive orders.

For sure tax + shippping kills the whole thing, but it seems the site that you gave me totals up to 130 for a brand new regulator. I've seen 115 but i try to add it to the car but it doesn't add . Theres a online site that will send it to me for 120 shipped, but i never heard of it.

How is that regulator holding up? i am still debating whether i should i buy a new one or a used one. New - 130 or used 80$
i'm going to bump this up because i think its a great DIY, my regulators just took a dump on me, so I'll be giving this a shot this week before I put in for a new one
With new regulators only $150 from the dealer, its really not worth the time/effort to rig something up....my .02
25 minutes wasn't much time or effort. It would take longer to fully unbolt and swap out a new regulator. In fact, it would take a lot longer just going to the dealer to order the part and wait for it to come in.
And if you think "only $150" is a great deal, remember that unless Lexus has come up with an improved design, you'll just be buying the same plastic part that broke in the first place.
As long as it last another 18 years (my SC's a 92) then i'm fine with it being a ticking time bomb....I guess I'm just venting because every other car that comes through the shop involves me un-rigging someone else's "fix"....
