you'll need research...use the search function to find what you're looking for.

i would get a Soarer Swap with the 1jzgte. i've read nightmares of getting the VVTI to work properly is a pain.

plus you also have to swap oil pans. since the VVTi versions only came with Front Sump Oil pan'd engines.

If you can't do any research then you won't be able to do the swap. Search months ahead before you decide to do the swap.

If your auto and doing the auto swap then you don't need the drive shaft if auto to manual you'll need the manual driveshaft

wow mis info is deadly when spread the vvti swap is the better of the 2 is a very easy swap the info is hard to find if u dont look and ask ???? 2 the vvti cam in front and rear sump but the rear sump is the harder of the two to find. 3 is 300 hp @ 2800 rpm that full boost under 3k parts are widely avaliable through toyota and ebay.

dr tweak
kaizen motor
my 2j swap
CL memeber cartmill and my self can do the wiring harness conversion

i am the guy wrote the swap bible for the car

damn hate when people talk bout what they dont know

i did an auto to manual swap it was a w58 im actually doing a w58 to r154 swap as we speak. its pretty easy, i left the auto gage cluster in it has no effect other than the fact that you get a overdrive light in your face if you disconnect the wire at the ecu or cut it or pull the bulb it doesent matter the dif has a different gear ratio too its fine to leave your just running a little high for an rpm on the highway but it accelerates quicker! i left mine stock

you obviously need a the clutch pedal and bracket the standard brake lever a clutch master cylinder clutch lines and slave cylinder, the front half of what ever driveshaft fits the trany you get/ have

which 5 speed do you have?? im bad at this search thing someone has to have a auto to stick thread up which i have a bunch of stuff to add to and if i cant find it im starting a new one with my swap on it

if you want your reverse lights to work you have to splice in to 2 wires on the auto tranny wiring harness i have the colors and plug in a pic its really easy and you cant mix them up its just s switch just hook the 2 wires up from the car harness to the manual tranny reverse switch w/ some kind of water proof conector.

you need the correct lenth tranny/shifer housing(depending on tranny) you need the shift boot for the center council you need a flywheel and clutch

oh you have to ether bypass or hook up the nutral start switch to the clutch switch again 2 wires i just bypassed min so you can start the car withough pressing in the clutch.

one thing im unsure of that i did not experience/notice that was brought up was that the auto computer pulled timing when it thoguth the trannyt was going to shift even though it was not there so you would feel a little bit of a jerk. I DID NOT experience this but i do not know if its true or untrue. just somehthing to keep in mind

im sure theres more stuff im forgetting im labeling my thread auto to w58 swap if you would like to look for it in the search
