Default i have to ask so be nice

yes i have searched however

i am thinking of picking up a 99 sc 300 ..

i want to swap out the auto and add a w58 5 sp to it , is this possibloe and what exactly is involed aside from the obvious items

i want to turbo the vvti motr , i would be looking for about 400 rwhp and thats it , want it for lexus like reliablity , not looking for the 500 and over club , that does not interest me

whats exactly involved with the vvti motor and why hasnt anyone used the motor and tranny out of a 2003 gs300 that comes with e shift and drop it into the coupe , seems to me would be the best of both worlds

please contructive answers and suggestions for i only have a couple days to decide if i am going to buy this car

you may not be a noobie, but you are lazy for not wanting to search for it yourself

...and next time you purposely misplace a thread there will be an infraction. We get so much joy out of having to move threads people purposely misplace that we can hardly contain ourselves..............

Please use the proper forum. ....and we'll reward you with information.

now now ladies.....

ok so u have a few questons there is nothing wrong turbo-ing a vvti 2jz motor the problem u will come across is that it is OBD 2 which learns the way u drive and corrects teh fuel maps and it is hard to tune because it keeps changing.

the w58 is a great choice im pusshing 420 hp on it and it holds

a basic kit will get u those numbers with a tt head gasket

www.clubna-t.com is a great sorce for info on turboing the 2jz motor

i didnt know the 03 had a e-shift wtf that is my dream most guys use a 6 speed from a supra and go with a stil-way shifting system. but if the gs has it im gonna get one from my sponsor and let u guys know how it works

calm down little girl, no need to get your panties in a bunch. as for the moderator, he is doing his job, he has to move wayyyy to many threads to the proper forums, yours included, because not enough people follow the rules. and if your a veteran you will know to use the proper forum. and trying to pull vet status? you should lead by example and not just figure because you have been here a while you can just post anywhere. keep hating the sc forum there is no need to see your lack of cooperation here.

and for your info if your such a VETERAN of the forum you will know to do a search, quit being lazy.

now this was useful info i can use

dont call me a girl or any other name for that matter for you have no idea who i am and yes i can pull the vet status card for i have been around even longer then that mod, i have helped countless others in the gs forums but i always noticed in the sc forum with the exception of some who truly are car guys who like to help many prefer to be nothing more then key board warriors

placing in the main section for a day or 2 does not hurt anyone , i explained in the thread i have to make a decision rather quickly , i know whats involved turboing a sc , heck we have even performed 1jz swaps and manuel converations in my garage but i have never done a vvti motor nor swap the auto in that version to w58 so it was a simple question , if you noticed in the thread " aside from the obvious items" meaning i do know the basics

i wish some of you guys here would be more assistance friendly rather then lets all pile on top like how we do it in the gs forum

no none has scared me off but OLT you may lock this useless thread if you desire

I'll close it. Ed you were way out of line in this thread.

I'll search for you and put up a couple of links.

Here's a search tip extraordinare... since the CL search limits you to 4 characters or greater, you can use google to find the threads you need. It does have some disadvantages in that you can't narrow search to a particular sub-forum but you can get pretty discrete with your keywords

Go to google and put in keyword w-58 site:clublexus.com
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...Aclublexus.com

Found these among others
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=276438
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=205420
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho....php?p=2546715
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=261624
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=275016
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=262114
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=192380 Good summary of tranny options
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...=152680&page=2

Search for 'automatic transmission speed' - these aren't specifically w-58 (more coming a bit later)
