Default Headlight Help!

I took apart my headlights and decided to take on sanding them to get them clean and clear again
I wet sanded them from 220 grit all they way to 2000grit on both the inside and out. Used some polish and rubed them with a towel. then proceeded to wash them off. They are really cloudy, how do i get them clear? Do i need a buffer or a special compound?

Try a product called "Flitz" if you can get your hand on it. It's basically a metal polisher, but I guess any metal polisher will do. I used metal polisher on my dad's 97 BMW 740IL, and it cleared them up nicely! If not, try resanding and then hit it with some 3M plastic cleaner and 3M plastic polish. Or try this combo from Meguiar's.

This might work better with our Polycarb lenses.

they are cloudy because they haven't been sanded enough. However 220 grit was way too gritty IMO and it will take a long time to sand out the 220 grit grooves.

try polishing them with toothpaste, it's simple, cheap, and works miracles.

ya use more super fine grit sand paper, i did that and then used novus's 3 stage plastic polish, it works miracles! ooh just an idea i'd use an orbital polisher to assist in the polishing unless u want to give your arms some extreme working out!

You might need to start out with some 1000 then 1500 then 2000 to finish it off, the 220 probably left such huge grooves you may need to work your way back up.
