Wheel lock
Hello,
I am looking for the wheel lock for my car. I checked the glove box, spare tire and the jack area but I don't see the wheel lock. Does anyone know where does the technician store the lock after service?
Thanks

I bought my 2024 ES350 new and it was factory equipped with wheel locks. The special socket fits in a pocket near the jack above the spare tire. The car came with instruction papers from the wheel lock maker advertising a special price to buy a spare special socket and zipped cloth storage bag to keep in the glove box. I bought one for $19.29, the discounted price advertised in the packet that came with the car.

I believe my Lexus/Toyota dealer has one or more sets of all the different OEM special sockets to use when they rotate tires, so they do not use one of my sockets.
Amazon has sets, but they may not include your style, so I would see a Lexus dealer about buying the correct tool for your car. One correct tool should be a lot cheaper than a set.
Sunday, the low tire pressure warning light came on, and the display showed the right front tire was low. I pumped it up and Monday I took my Lexus to my local Discount Tire shop to get a screw removed from one of my tires and the hole repaired. The tire guy asked for my socket, so I gave him the one from my glove box. That way I did not need to empty out my truck to get at the spare tire area. They repaired the tire for free and returned my socket. Thank you, Discount Tire. I had expected them to have a set of tools so they would not need mine, but maybe there are too many variations for a shop that services all vehicle makes.

The invoice for my car lists wheel locks in the price of the car. I had a flat tire and discovered that I had no wheel locks. Mine is a 2023, so it is a little late to complain to the dealer. I guess I was ripped off.

Always ask were the lock is before you go from the shop that used it. I take my lock out and put it in the cup holder and ask for them to put it back there. Then I put it were I wanted it with all the other things go the spare.
