Default Wheel Lock Advice - 1 Lock/wheel VS. 5 Locks/wheel

Hey guys,

So I just received my 20" Vossens last weekend (pics coming soon), but the shop I ordered them from, forgot to send me the locks I purchased. The locks I was supposed to get where 5 locks/wheel. I had to go find locks last minute, and bought McGuard's locks (1 lock/wheel)... A local tire shop told me that the material on the locks are not as strong as the normal lugs, and he advised me to get the McGuards (1 lock/wheel) along with normal lugs. So, thats what I did. Then I heard other stories of how its easy to break locks, and having 5 locks/wheel would definetely discourage a thief from even trying to attempt to steal the rims... Wanted to get your guys opinion on this subject, as I may go ahead and still get the 5 locks/wheel set, thanks!

basically, if they want it, they will take it. 1 lock and 5 locks don't make that much of a difference in time. if they already have a jamming way or universal key for one lock, do you think it will take them that much longer to take off the other 4?

Well if you really want to deter thieves from stealing your wheels you really should get 5 different wheel locks for each bolt. That would be the best way to scare off thieves. Other then that I would just get on lock/wheel anything more and your not really going to slow them down. If they have the wheel lock ready it won't help you either way.

but like henry said, if they have a way to jamb it and get it off anyway whats the point of having 5 different locks? if they want it, they will get it.

jimmy (batmobile) had an interesting set of lugs on his M45. he was showing me that the wheel lock had a cap over it and used a special key to remove. almost like a magnet but the cap wasnt made out of metal. the only real way to remove it was with that key. pretty interesting and im sure it would confuse the hell out of theives
