CD player screen "CUSTOMIZE"?
2019 RX 350 F Sport. 60k. All works great. HELP desk always has the answer...until now... CD player. No sound. Display shows correct disc info. Volume is up. All other audio sources have sound. Try resetting dc several times. Still nothing.
Then a display shows "CUSTOMIZE" ( I don't dare touch those controls) . I shut her down again. Next few times, still no sound, display shows correct info. Same issues with any cd I insert.
No heat, direct sun issues.
Not using my Carista reader. Haven't modified Lexus in a long time.
The dealer tech desk guys are baffled. Neither I nor them ever have seen that display message.
This occurs when the beast has been unused for a few hours. No matter am/pm. Car does not sit in sun. No lightening issues.
It all works fine the rest of the day when I get back in.
Anyone ever seen "CUSTOMIZE" display?

I have used a CD "cleaner", a disc with low profile soft panels that wipe the head(s).
Seem to have misplaced it and can not remember a brand name but it was an audio
store accessory. Our trouble was skipping not no sound however.

Thanks for the replies. The CD player only has the symptom of no audio at the first start up of the morning. I do start/try it/shut down key several times. No pattern, but it never comes back UNTIL I drive, walk away, do whatever, return, start up and all is well. I have checked from a to z...the connectors are solid...the harness' are visibly and continuity tested, all good. Digital harness has no kinks, no stress...sure, it could have a hairline crack internally, that mends itself by micro measurements, but unlikely. I know, right, this is a good one!
A one time clean out of the cd player is best done with unit out...compressed air...with a vacuum running above the chassis. Then wipe disc, using microfiber with NO water, nor chemicals, and wipe from center hole of disc outwards to outer ring. DONOT WIPE IN CIRCULAR MOTION. If you've done so, it deposits the tiny tiny particles into the disc...this is why skips occur. But you can correct by doing the wiping from inner to outer core as previously described.
The other symptom is that display of "CUSTOMIZE". Again, the dealer tech desk hasn't a clue on that either. If and when I can supply some logic, I shall notify my tech desk and also post here. Otherwise, anyone with an out of the box fix is welcome to reply... We're all smart enough to have the Lexus...someone is smarter with the right fix.
