Default Can the CD player read foreign language?

Hey all. I'm wondering whether the stock CD player is capable of displaying foreign language on the screen from the MP3 or WMA's ID tag??

As long as the CD Text can recognize the coding, and whatever language the ID3 tag is saved in, yes it will show.

well.... out of the 800 megs or so of music i burned, mostly chinese/japanese, the car could read none of the names. It can play the songs fine, but the display just displays blanks, besides when there are numbers, where it'll display blank and numbers.

I couldn't get it past the Nero when I tried to burn a Mp3 CD. Once I put a couple of Mp3's, the title would dissapear. I'm mostly using romanized titles now, but there are some where I have chinese/korean/japanese text on the title.

No luck here either. I even tried used unicode in the filename and tags. Big5 doesn't show up either.

Hey pocky, since I never got to reply to you, check out these programs:
http://alf-li.pcdiscuss.com/e_index.html

I used them to convert the Big5 and GBK tags in mp3's into unicode, so it displays in Windows. One small step :P Maybe it'll let you show them in the NAV.

Why did you need to install language packs for that? I watch Anime & Japanese TV shows just fine. Unless your using a different method that I'm not aware of.

Hey Jason, Thanks for the link, I'll check it out later when I get home.
