CD player issue

CD player issue
Loud clicking sound emits when my 06 is350 is started. Clicking sound repeats twice and then doesn't come back on unless I select CD player mode again. CD entry door is shut. Eject button doesn't work, cds don't play.
Dont care much to play cds, but would rather have the clicking sound not come on. Solutions?

Anyone know for sure if disconnecting the wiring harness from the back of the CD Player only, can force the CD Player to not operate but not affect the touchscreen display unit?
Sourcing parts for the car is still difficult here locally.
