You are right, but that was for 2014 model year. However HID's are no longer packaged with the build and packaging for 2015, You can also see this on lexus.com build area. All of the 2015's, when shopping at my dealer come with HID's and are part of a standard order package from the factory without nav or even extra options.
for 2014 you needed to go with Nav etc to get HID's. Or custom order.
For 2015, The HID Headlamp is in Comfort Package. Unless you are getting F Sport.
Comfort Pkg: Xenon HID Headlamps, LED Fog lamps, Rain-sensing wipers and Heated & Ventilated Front Seats
If you just want HID Headlamps as an option, you will have to special order. Maybe your dealer ordered their RXs' with HID but all dealers in Southern California make you to get Comfort Package if you want HID.
^ yes you are right, Lexus breaks that down into packages. But all the 2015 that south east dealers do not have the HID's as port of any package. They all pre order the 2015's with comfort package to include ventilated seats.
It's not difficult but you can always install an aftermarket HID for under $100 easily and they're pretty high quality. No need to go for Comfort Package.
You paid $48,200 inclusive of tax, document fees, title, etc? If so, that is an unbelievable deal for a loaded 2015 with AWD.
I just special ordered the exact vehicle (different colors) and paying $51,000 "out the door". It's a good thing I haven't eaten yet today!
jd, buying in different states muddies the water on the price.
I bought the same car too (sticker = $50,254)
My out the door was $50,500 here in VA. We have 4% sales tax.
No trade involved.
Then again, maybe we're just rubes.

Been shopping around for 2015 RX 350 with MSRP 50254 (invoice is 47645) my lowest offer from a dealer has been 43495, most other offers are around 45400. I have been working on this for about 5 days by email only.
Thank god I'm filthy rich or I'd be upset for sure!
Low offer does sound suspicious to me. Sounds like they will try to add in a bunch of extra fees at signing which I would then walk away. I doubt I can get it that low.
hey dharman,
what dealer was it NJ. I live in philly and prices around here are not competitive. does yours have a nav.
Try Prestige Lexus in Ramsey NJ and call Eric Miller, General Sales Manager. This is the best person you will ever find in a Lexus Dealership who will work with you on the phone, online or in person. He gave me a better price than any other dealer in six states. Prestige is the largest dealer in the US.
Good luck,
Larry
Tried Thompson. Not much of selection there. Where did u get yours. I don't mind going outta state. Heck I will go to Florida if I can get a good price for 2015 with nav, comfort, prem package with bsm around 45k plus tax. Anyone?
Call Wilde Lexus in Sarasota FL ask for Jim Lally and just ask for MSRP of the car your want.
Go to KBB.Com and get you trade price. Take 15% off list of the new care and the highest price for your trade and ask if they will sell the car to you at that price OTD. Dont go to the dealer until you are at the price you want.
Circulate an email with the price information to the sales manager at Clearwater and Tampa Lexus Dealers. From this data , arrive at your buying price then go to the dealer with the check..
Dont ever send a deposit on a car without the Vin number of the car you are buying. They may say there is a delay in shipping as they sell cars to others until you raise you raise your price making you wait. You need to be ahead of the dealers next move just like flying an airplane. Its fun when you know exactly what they will do next.
Good luck,
Larry
