Plastic under dash secured?
I just adjusted my tire pressure and went to reset the TPMS under the dash. The entire plastic panel that the TPMS button is attached to is only connected to the dash on the long side closest to the driver (like a door on a hinge). As such, it's free to flop around.
Is this normal, or did my new car come with a broken clip or something?

Ron, the floppiness is normal. But it's an out of sight out of mind area so ....
It's technically not hard to do but physically it's a b***h . Easier with a couple of long neck beers and your wife whispering sweet nothings while you show her how well you can bend over backwards while fussing with it under the dash .

My wife and I did this last Sunday. She scooted down to reach the TPMS button, while I sat in the front seat and waited for the requisite 3 slow blinks of the TPMS icon to finish before she released the button. I told her it was a good thing the neighbors weren't watching or they'd be wondering what we were up to.

If you adjust the pressure, it's a good idea to reset the TPMS. My understanding is that it will trigger if the pressure in any tire drops more than 5 PSI from the TPMS setting. If you lowered the pressure, then the warning may come on for just a small drop. If you raise the pressure, then it may take much more than 5 PSI to trigger it, thus defeating the purpose.
It's easy to do. Just start the car and press the button until the yellow warning light on the dash blinks three times.
