I also have remote start and am very upset that the vehicle kills upon entry. I voiced my concern with the dealer and he contacted Lexus engineering and encouraged me to write directly to Lexus (do it via e-mail) They are getting numerous complaints; I encourage all of you to send a note to them. They have indicated that they are looking into a possible fix for the problem. We need as many people as possible to keep after them.
We'll see.
I am going to keep bugging them.
Thanks to everyone who takes a few minutes to contact them.
I agree that the 'kill upon entry' is a pain, but my real pet peave is the VERY limited range and tedious button push protocol. I have emailed Lexus and hopefully others will as well. Overall, this is a terrific vehicle, but we just need Lexus to maintain it's top-shelf standards.

Yea there is a long thread already on this forum regarding the remote start shutting off as well as the range.
The answer I got from my service adviser is that they don't want the remote start to accidentally engage and then allow someone to drive off with your vehicle. Makes sense thought. I had them program it also to lock all the doors when the remote start is engaged. I think they only envisioned using this function to heat up/cool down the car before getting in it. So in that sense I don't think they see it as a problem.
The sad thing is that Toyota is very conservative and will prevent any risks they can think of. They're opposed to change when the issue might cause the accidents/issues. They don't want to risk anything. In US, the beauty of life is anyone can bring a suit against anyone/anything.
